Do they currently have a baseline trail edition with kdss that is not a premium? Or are there any TEP's that dont.come with sunroof? I have a list of items I'llbe wwantingif iIdecide to get rid of my current 2012 but not sure if they make it. BBasically Iwant kdss like my current trail but iIhate the sunroof and iI'mnot.a fan of the fake leather stuff in the trail premiums. Do they make a trail package with kdss nav but no sunroof? I plan on getting aftermarket leather.installed. do the newest 5th gens still have shaking/vibrating steering wheel issues?

I can't have a sunroof because I'm tall and it takes away precious headroom. But I also wanted leather. So I got a base Trail (non-premium) with KDSS and Nav then added Katzkin heated leather. Easy. No vibrating and shaking on the steering. Never heard of that being a problem.

Thanks. They don'toften sell the TE in the gGulfstates so it may be another custom order. I loathed my sunroof on my current TE but wwasn'tsure if they did base trail editions without sunroof for 2016. I was hoping iIddidn'thave to pay high dollar for a trd pro lose kdss just to get away from a sunroof.

I'll agree that the sunroof is a bit useless (I live in Las Vegas) but how tall are you people?! I'm 6'2 and wear an Tall XL shirt and I have plenty of headroom. I'm mostly poking fun but I can see where the sunroof is...meh. One thing I have noticed, without the sunroof cracked the exhaust smell pours into the back of the truck with the window down. I do have that crappy chrome tip on there and I've heard removing that makes all the difference.

OP, I think you are looking at an ordered vehicle. I just sold a car with leather and now have the Tex interior. It looks great and is far cooler than the leather was. I don't have the vibration. My biggest gripe is the nose dive. :sniper: Suspension is ordered and on the way so that a simple fix.

Sunroof useless? I'm no giant at 6' tall but that's a pretty subjective comment. I've owned a sunroof on my vehicles for the past 15 years and I've used the crap out of them. Unless you have melanoma or you are a monstrous person they are used often by some people.

Reminds me of when I worked at dealerships back in 1999 when old people would come in and tell me all the evils about sunroofs.. Clearly they had bad experiences with early versions of this novelty (as expected) but I feel that this argument today is the equivalent of arguing about not buying a Japanese vehicle because we fought them in a war once. :sniper:

Do the seats not adjust down in the 4Runner?

As to the exhaust smell..I find that odd. Can't say I have ever smelled this on a newer vehicle as compared to my '77 Scout which will make you smell like a full time mechanic in under 30 seconds. I'll have to ask my friend if his Gen 4 does this.

The base trail is no sunroof, no leather. KDSS is an option and so is entune with nav (KDSS, entune w/nav are factory installed, not dealer). For 2017 they might be renaming 'trail' to 'TRD Off-road', to match the Tacoma nomenclature and add a bunch of dressing to advise the public as much.

Same here. Didn't want the sunroof or pleather. Have a base Trail with KDSS and Nav and then added Katzkin heated leather. I'm happy!

Like the user_name:, had me fooled for a few seconds.

Not sure if I'm even 5 10" any more, but my head is awfully close to the headliner corner of the sunroof. Back seat has a weird thing going on too, you need to watch out. I can see why he doesn't want the sunroof. Had to have something removed from my face from being out in the sun, was not melanoma. Looked like shit though.

My 2013 Trail has the woven plastic (unheated) seats, they suck on long trips on hot days. I tried some seat liners, they sucked too, went to Walmart and bought some cotton towels and poked holes for the headrest.

Some website claimed that that 2017 TRD Pro was also going to have red in addition to cement. Anybody know? So many BS websites anymore, its a pain in the ass.

I'mnot saying the sunroof is useless to others but it is for me. It takes up much valuable headroom. Forget wearing a cowboy hat or having tall friends ride comfortably as passengers. II'monly 5'11" and iit'san annoyance. Ive ridden in the back seat as well... what a hhorribly uncomfortable ride that is with the 3" drop in front of your forehead. One hard braking encounter and my forehead is smashing into the roof drop down.

iI'm contemplating waiting for 2017 to come or getting a 2016. When do Yall think 2017s will be aavailable for order?

Not sure to be honest. I just put a deposit down on an order this week and I was told it's a 50/50 that it will be approved as a 2016 at this point in the year.. or it could also be accepted and end up being a 2017. No one can really tell me anything more than that.

I live in Las Vegas. It's 110 degrees today. Useless during summer. It is subjective and I don't feel like subjecting my dome to 110 degrees of hot. I just picked up the 4Runner. I don't even know what it feels like to drive without MAX A/C on. :bowl:

Base = no sunroof and cloth
Premium = sunroof and pleather

there are plenty in the gulf states in both configurations

I rarely use mine during the muggy nasty summers we have but once fall, winter and spring come around it's almost always open. I sometimes crack it in the summer to make my dog go ape shit (the flood of outside smells drives him crazy). lol

Max AC is 3/4 months except when the GF starts complaining. Even with dual climate she gets cold. She'll love when I control all of the cabin once the 4Runner gets here. :yell:

Hm, I'd guess that's a good sign that the 2017s are coming soon! I want to find out what the 2017 has to offer, then I'll be ready to BUY!

I would prefer if it were a TEP but I won't complain too much if I end up with a TRD OffRoad Premium unless some out of the blue changes mean I cannot get the same configuration (which I don't anticipate).

It's the only reason I haven't purchased my Trail badges yet. lol

I went with Super White (the coolest for my pups) but maybe not the coolest color when it comes to being socially hip.

I like silver but I burned myself out on it. Bad habits!

I'd imagine there will be some sort of difference, although I'm sure it will be minor. I want silver to stay cooler for my pups.

I wanted silver when I got my 2004, but hubby had a silver car, so I opted for the lighter of the two blues they offered. I love the blue but still wish I'd gotten silver! He got a new car in 2012, again, silver, but this time I don't care if we match! ;-)

The white is pretty too! That'd probably be my 2nd choice in color.

2 of the dealers I went to yesterday can get a 2016 trail in white. They both said there is none available in texas. I think ill end up having to get a custom order base trail with kdss. Another complaint iIhave is all the silver trim in my current te. It scratches and chips very easily. I noticed the trd pro has bblack plastic trim pieces which looks much better. It looks like I'llbe adding quite a bit of costs at the dealer to get a trail with trd wheels, tires, front grille and bumper guard plus possibly a leveling kit, leather with coooling seats, etc.
