2018 TRD OR - 20k miles - weird brake resonance?

I get a weird brake whistle/hum/resonance that comes on when I'm cruising 40-70mph from the front right. As soon as I touch the brake pedal, it stops. Seems like something is loose or humming or touching in the rotor or pad assembly.
Anyone else have or fix this or even know what it is?

I def will - but it's hard to replicate, and the dealer always acts naieve and says everything "seems fine" if I can't give them particular details to look at.

Pull the wheel off and see if the brake dust shield is bent or if anything else is loose up in there. Check the rubber engine splash guard for squeaky fasteners while you’re at it.

Nothing in the fender causing it. It stops every time i touch the brakes. Dust shield seems ok, too.

Almost wondering if its resonant brake pad chatter or the way certain-direction winds flow through the brake dust shield vent slates or something similar.

Or possibly a tiny stone in the brake pad dragging on the rotor.......

I've had this noise, and ultimately decided it must have been a piece of grit in a brake pad, as a couple of hard brake applications from highway speed made it go away.

Weird the way it came and went depending on slight changes of direction or steering angle -- like you, I wondered at first if something in the brakes was setting up a wind whistle at certain angles.

It also sounded a bit like a key-cutting lathe in a hardware store, which made sense in light of the eventual diagnosis of a piece of grit dragging against the rotor.
