2018 TRD Pro colors

Crazy price! For a Trail with an appearance package. That is $11,900 more than I paid for my Trail out the door. Absolutely insane! But, enjoy the $12K paint job I guess.

Must be frustrating but it's human nature to rationalize one's buying decision...no one likes to admit a mistake. Repeating the same over and over again might indeed help you get over it.

A 2016's PRO trade in value is still $10K+ higher than that of your 2016 trail...so nothing lost for PRO buyers...and some people just enjoy not having cloth seats, a better looking grille, an 1" lift, a wider track, all terrain tires, different springs, Bilstein shocks and in some cases even a unique color.

If you get the $10K back in the end - why not.

Hilarious! I made no mistake and the 2016 PRO should sell for $10K higher since it cost that and probably more for it. And again, since I am a blowhard, it's basically an appearance package and nothing more...for over $10K!! :wow:

Also as mentioned in a previous thread, if you don't modify your PRO it will be worth it cuz you will get your money back....If you take your PRO and replace most of the things you paid a premium for than you lose money.

Toyota needs to make a real PRO package, not an appearance package. YMMV. An sorry you are offended by my comments. The truth hurts sometimes.

Oh come on man...blowhard??? Geez, I didn't realize being smart with money and sharing my opinion on that would cause so much discontent.

When it comes down to it, I want more from Toyota (and so should you) than is being offered in the PRO appearance package for an extra $12K, and I'm sorry that point is coming across the wrong way.

Yes, a blowhard! No two ways about it.
Of course folks are dumb sh!ts about their money-no argument there. Of course the Pro is not the best way to spend your money if you want a 4Runner. The point is you do not need to point it out every opportunity you may have. It's very low hanging fruit and it makes you look small to rub member's d!cks in the dirt every time it comes up.

Hey Dave Ramsey, with the magic of debt you too can drive a car and sign your life away.

Let's get those dicks dirtier and see if we can build a better pro in the aftermarket for $12K or less...

-Leather Seat covers to cover up the cloth and better than the vinyl in the current PRO...how much? $1100?

-TSO PRO valence for a "better looking grill"...what? $250?

-A lift kit to cover the cheap ass Bilstein PRO shocks, factory springs, and 1" lift...Let's go with this kit...vastly superior to any factory offered suspension in every way...$3300

-A wider track and new rims with 1 inch offset...How much??? $2000??

So far we are up to $6650 and the 4 Trail/Offroad we built is waaay better than a stock PRO so far.

-That leaves us with $5350 to deal with the special color if you so choose to do so. So we can vinyl wrap it in any color combination we choose. I believe it's been posted here before that it costs about $4500 to completely wrap the 4. I would choose something cool and completely different like say the SSO did with their sweet 4Runner.

So after all that we still have $850 left over for a fridge or dual battery setup or sliders or aftermarket skids...Again, none of that is offered in the $12000 stock PRO option.

And I'm being nice on the $12000 cuz you still need to come up with tax, tag, and title.

Annnnd, it's very strange how sensitive people are to different opinions. Crazy and quite sad how quickly people turn to insults when someone doesn't agree with them.

You are preaching to the Choir. I never once said the Pro was a good buy or better off road that the Offroad model. Step off your soap box, stop with the qualifications and let people live. This isn't a financial site and no one asked you for financial advice.

You're right, no one asked me...doesn't mean I can't post my opinion like everyone else can...like you can. It's ok man, we are all friends here, we all own a great vehicle. Relax and step off your soapbox and respect the fact that I can post an opinion.

I said my piece and I stand by it.

Wally does not meet the definition of a “blowhard,” more like an ignoramus! Buying a PRO at MSRP IS the best way to spend your money on a 4Runner without question.

Poor Wally - Can't stay out of any TR4 Pro thread without bringing in negativity.

Deep down Wally wants a TRD Pro 4Runner but can't bring himself to understand why - so he is vocally opposed. Ever seen/heard of those politicians who are very anti-gay and then get caught in the mens room at airport with another bloke?

Sort of like that.

Cheers Wally

Yeah, you probably don’t want to ask Wally for financial advice since he has a hard time with elementary financial analysis.

So did you pay it off Wally? With that weak balance sheet I would have advised you to buy a used 3rd generation.

Now things make more sense. Wally wants a TRD Pro but can't (or won't) pay the price. Fair enough, it's a lot of money for an appearance package

Go through the forums and look at every TRD Pro specific thread - they are all rated three stars. Five stars by the people that own them and One star for everyone who doesn't (and thus hates on it). Weird.

Guess I have this to look forward to whenever my Voodoo blue PRO ships. lol

How did you calculate a $12,000 difference?

You could have it wrapped in any color or scheme 3 times for that price. Sorry but there is nothing fair about being bent over by Toyota for a calvary blue Trail.

Yeah and you could get an SR5, add a helicopter propeller on the top and have it shoot lasers out of the head lights. Way better than a stock pro at that point.

I don't know wtf any of these things have to do with getting the car you want from the dealer, but I like where this is going.
