If you know the part numbers, yes you could most likely just purchase the correct connectors. I have so far struck out with the part numbers for that specific connector as I was going to make pigtail harnesses that have been promised for months by others but never delivered. Best guess is previous poster’s ambitions outweighed their ability to get the correct materials so for now this is the only viable solution.

it doesn't look like Toyota sells that plug without the headlight itself unfortunately. You could possibly get one in a junkyard..
Still looking to see if someone has figured this out or if I can just wire up a relay to auxiliary high beams some how…
Any thoughts?

Well I took the plunge and bought a set of Pro LED's. Alex told me I could do some extra steps to set up the high beams. Otherwise, he said I could just use them like the non Pro LED's. I don't think I trust my lack of skills to do the extra steps for the high beams. These also came with the performance LED fogs that were supposedly an upgrade option. I paid a little extra as Alex did the extra work. I will see how the Diode Dynamics fogs look with the OEM LED's. So either the performance OEM fogs or Diode Dynamics fogs will be for sale soon. After having the Alpharex and returning them for lack of quality and light output, hopefully these work well.

Has anyone with factory LEDs been flashed by oncoming traffic while on low beams? Got this a few times since taking delivery.
Curious if my case is just a fluke or others have had theirs set to the “high side of normal” from the factory.

Just out of curiosity, which Diode Dynamics fogs do you have? I'm assuming you have the SS3 model, but do you have the Sport, Pro or Max version? I've done a lot of research and testing and even the lowest performing DD SS3 - the Sport - is head and shoulders above just about anything else. The Pros are awesome and the Max - which I'm currently running - is absolutely unbelievable.

Pros. They are awesome with the halogens which are basically useless even with bulb upgrade. Thats why I'm spending the money on the '21 LED upgrade.
Are they amber or white?
I'd definitely push you toward the OEM Rigid fog lights if they are amber, and then happily take those crappy SS3s off your hands. :behindsofa:

The DD SS3's - especially the Pro or Max versions - totally blow the OEM Rigids away. Here's a very exhaustive test / comparison:

Yup, I had the Pros, then upgraded to the Max. You cannot go wrong with either.
As for going from the OEM Halogens to the OEM LEDs, I have the OEM LEDs in my 2021 and am not impressed. The SS3's (fortunately) fill in the empty areas. Unless the OEM halogens are truly pathetic - which I hear they are - you may be disappointed.

Not a surprise, from the looks of it Toyota threw in a low end LED projector which is pretty disappointing. After my locker install I'm going to be tackling a headlight retrofit with Morimoto's new M-LED 2.0 projector which is one of the first LED based projectors that has matched and exceed HID projector performance. We will see how that turns out.

Everybody wondering if the Oem 2021 4 runner headlights are worth it. They are! It’s a night an day between these vs Oem halogen headlights, Oem with drop in leds, and Oem with drop in Hids.
Yes, it has a weird rectangle void on both sides but still have a very nice output throw to the beams.
As far as alignment and being flashed by in coming traffic. I have not experienced any. I noticed my passenger’s headlight was aimed higher than the driver’s side tho from the box. This is normal. If you aren’t happy with this, you can adjustment in in 5 min.
I checked all incoming angles for glare and etc and they are non existent on these new headlights. Of course if your sitting higher or raised, that may change things alittle.
We been asking for led headlights on the 4 runner for years and finally got it. Too bad people just can’t be happy on what they have
I guess people were expecting the Triple Diamond jewel leds and not the one project led in the housing itself.
As far as morimoto/Alpharex led headlights. I would take the Oem 2021 headlight reliability and longevity anyday over the Chinese aftermarket crap IMO.

I guess I'm spoiled by what I came out of. The 2012-2015 2nd generation Tacoma has some of the best OEM headlights period. Add a heavy duty harness and better bulbs and great gets even better - if you can believe that. All of this without bothering oncoming drivers too.
So are the OEM LEDs on my 21 bad? No, they're just not in the same league as my Tacoma. And you hit the niggles I have with them pretty much right on the head. I do plan on putting together a post with the upgrades I've made to mine to address those niggles as soon as I can find the time to do so. Trust me, there is room for improvement.
And as for Alpharex and most other aftermarket headlights, I fail to see what anybody would by them. The only thig they have going for them is (sometimes) cool looks. Performance? Not a chance. Quality? Don't even get me started. Cheap? Well, you've got me there.

We get it, you spent a good amount of money on your OEM LED headlights and you are taking every opportunity to tell the world how amazing they are. The simple fact is they aren't and the output shots that you and others have produced support that statement. Toyota went cheap with this lighting solution and it shows.
I would agree with your statement about the Morimoto and Alpharex headlights being cheap garbage though.

I actually didn't spend much on them at all. lol Cheaper than Alpharex and Morimoto headlights. Photos don't do it justice. You will need to see it in person.
I would suggest you riding in a friend's 4 runner with drop in leds, normal halogen headlights, and drop in hids, then sit in a friend with a 2021 4 runner. You need to see it first hand in order for you to fully appreciate them. We can post all the photos we can with our cell phones and tell you but seeing it firsthand is different. And no, they aren't as nice as some oem led headlights out there for sure...
