this was precisely the point of my earlier post.
I think you're right that it belongs more in a Sequoia discussion, but it may grab a lot of 4runner owners as well. Sequoia and 4R are cross shopped a lot. The odds part here is that the 4runner also has more cargo capacity than a Sequoia. So the lines are a little blurry because of how poorly the Sequoia was done.
Unfortunately the Sequoia may be an indication of what's coming to the 4R. The lx600 is also very small in the cargo area. It's nearly the same as a Rav4 and only barely bigger than a Corolla cross. The new Tundra bed got an inch shorter and 2 inches shallower - but also 7.5 inches narrower!. That's a huge downsize in bed volume. WTH Toyota?
