On November 10th, 1775 the Continental Congress signed a bill calling for the formation of 2 battalions of Continental Marines.

Now known as the United States Marine Corps, Marines celebrate November 10th as the birthday of the Marines.

To all my fellow Marines Happy Birthday and SEMPER FI!

Here's on of my favorite pics of me from my Marine Corps days, about to graduate from boot camp at Parris Island SC in 1989, my dad got a pic of me standing in front of the Iwo Jima Memorial.

Semper Fi!

My dad was in the Marines during WWII (42'-46'). I'm sure he's celebrating today with all of his Marine buddies ...

Thanks man. He passed away some years ago.

Ironically, I wanted to go into the Marines too, but it didn't work out for me.
I went into the Navy instead...

I was going to join the Navy. The recruiter was busy and told me to wait outside. The Marine recruiter wasn't busy, the rest is history.

Sorry about your dad, I am sure you are very proud of him.

Ha,funny how things work out. When were you in?

My feet hit the golden foot prints July 23, 1973. I was a 17 year old spoiled punk kid. Man, did I grow up fast. It was the best thing I could have done.

I'm sure you weren't spoiled, just needed some direction. Most do(including me) at that age. I was in from 12/-87-09/91.

Thanks for your service!

Happy birthday to all Marines,my younger brother is still in service and currently stationed in San Diego.I give him a big hug every time we see each other and say how much i love him and thankful for his service,he will retire in 4 years and he's not even 40.
