245/65/16 tires on a 265/70/16 rim?

So I need tires really bad but don't have the $$ for brand new ones. I talked to a used tire shop an they have brand new Goodyear Wrangler's (4 brand new tires) and are selling them for used price because they have been mounted on a rim but now driven on them.

The shop is 40 miles away but I'm not sure if I should get them because of the width difference. Would it affect the handling or have any other negative affects on the truck?

265/70/16 isnt a wheel size that is a tire size. but it will be 100 percent fine, only negative effect is that the tire is skinnier and shorter in size.

Those are some skinny tires, you're talking almost an inch skinnier and 2 inches less in diameter. I know some members run 255's but those 245/65R16's seem a little too small to feel comfortable in my personal opinion. But they should fit on the wheel without any issues.

That's stock size tire for GM 2500/3500 series truck and they have a 6.5" bead with a 7" wide wheel they will fit

Just know that you'll be going about 7% slower than your speedo says.

Sorry size is 245/75/16. Stupid fingers can't type right .

I guess I'll keep looking, because I want my speedo as accurate as possible, even though it's only 400.00 for 4 brand new GY Wranglers.

If that's the size then your speedo will be pretty close

245/75/16 is roughly the same diameter as 265/70/16, which is a stock tire size on the 4Runner. A 245/75/16 is 20mm narrower than a 265/70/16.

I use 245/75/16 snow tires on my 4Runner. Works fine, looks fine.
