260,000 miles too many to begin modding?

Hey everyone,
I was fortunate enough to get my 96 runner limited for my first car, it has never let me down and I have kept up on maintenance pretty well, only had to really replace the radiator and other general stuff. Anyways, the miles are ticking up near 260,000 as it is my daily driver and I'm driving about 60 miles per day 4 days a week for class. The question that I wanted to ask everyone is, too many miles to start putting on some major mods? Such as a legitimate 3" suspension lift, wheels, tires, roof rack, etc. Truck runs great just want to know if I would be better off saving up for my next runner?

I dont think so. If you mod it and it ends up breaking beyond reasonable cost for repair, you could always get a newer 3rd gen and swap the mods over onto the new 'runner.
Mine has 203,000 and I was lifting and installing wheels and tires today! Wont be stopping soon.

I wouldn't be afraid to mod it, but with the higher the mileage I would keep a bit of cash saved for repairs. Of course some of the mods will replace high mileage wear items, and that's just an all around win.

yep never to much or late to mod i got front 3'' lift and 33'' tires for sale? lol

Mine has 260000 on it and I've been going to town with it. Getting ready to install a rear mount turbo on it too. Motor should be fine with that. Trans is a question mark though lol
