275/65/17 no lift

I really want to avoid a lift, due to gas mileage as I drive a lot, but I have a set of 275/65/17 BFG A/T on the way with some Level 8 Strike 6 -12 offset wheels coming. Basically I want someone to say I won't rub or that it would be minor rubbing. Otherwise tell me that I MUST add my daystar leveling kit. Gas mileage is my priority, however the tires/wheels are already on the way. How much mpg would be affected? I have read anywhere from 0.5 to as much as 3mpg being lost with a lift/tire change. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

You are going to see more of a decrease in MPG from running bigger tires over stock than you are from installing a daystar kit.
As for rubbing you may have some minor rubbing on the inner fenders, but nothing a slight trim can't fix.

I figured the tires would affect MPG more. I called the tire shop I was dealing with, those rims are too wide and the offset is too much to work without a lift kit at all. For anyone wondering, 17x8.5 needs offset of >= 11. 17x9 needs >=18. This is for minimal to no rubbing, tire size still needs to be considered.

Even 265-70-17 causes slight rubbing on full lock. 275 will definitely rub, you have to push your fender liner forward, take off your mud flaps, cut off bits of the inner fender at a minimum. 99% will need a lift.

Dude the bigger tires are what cause worse gas mileage... The lift just helps fit the tire.

You really don't lose any gas mileage from a lift kit, even areodynamically nothing much has really changed. The tires are what will kill the MPG, a 275/65R17 is still going to rub at full lock and most likely on compression as well. I had installed my ShrockWorks bumper before installing my Nitto's but a lot of members talk about how the front fender often needs to be trimmed near the front bumper side for more clearance.
