285/70/17 on TRD OR

Need a favor from someone with TRD OFF Road Rims and 285/70/17.

Can I get a pic from the top of the fender facing down? In our wonderful state we need to get it inspected when we modify our vehicles and I need to it stay within the fender well.

I found this one from the back which looks close.

But he has different rims and I'm not sure on the offset.

Post #605. His is lifted but he has trail wheels and you can see that it’s still inside the fender line.

Wow, not sure why they would care, maybe because it rains so much and too much outside the fenders would kick up a lot of water. I am pretty sure it wouldn't stick out beyond the fender. Here is one with an SCS wheel with a -10 offset and 4.3 inch backspacing. Obviously these stick out about an inch but with stock offset and backspacing I think you should be good. Perhaps it might come down to how anal they are about it. Would 1/4 inch fail you? Who knows. Also, does that mean inside the top of the fender or all of the fender as the lower part is more inside than the top.

Also if you have a lift, the front wheels will be further in than the rear. Question there is, would they fail you if your rear are out and your front are in?

I have no idea why they care either. Half the people out here get their vehicle inspected for the sticker and change it.

But my goal is to keep it legal and still looking good.

I just did my recon a few days ago. It was pretty painless and only took me 20 minutes. yes, i was told to get recon sticker with OEM wheels and then put oversized wheels on once you get the sticker. I'm with you though. My conscience won't let me drive around in an illegally modded vehicle. even if it is an outdated/antiquated law. I went with 275/70/17.

I don't even know why people bother using stock wheels to get recon then just changing to tires that obviously will never pass. Might as well just not spend time to get it.
