2nd Gen (1995) Transmission Question.

I have a 1995 3.Slow 4x4 Automatic with a bad transmission. Are all the V6 Autos the same?
I have found a used transmission for a good price but it is out of a '95 V6 2wd.
Both are R series transmissions but are they exactly the Same/Exact Swap.

Is your truck 2wd as well? 2wd and 4wd are different.
Also you say they're autos and R series.
The R series trans are manuals.

The 2nd gen tranny's are not all exactly the same. Besides the 2WD/4WD differences, there were subtle changes to wiring in those years. I'm sure it can be overcome, but just so you're aware. I found that car-parts.com is a great tool when checking what will exchange exactly with your model and year. For me, I swapped an auto trans in my '92 project, and a '93 fit the bill but was the only other year that swapped perfectly without any wiring changes.

Thanks for the info, yes they are both 1995 autos but mine is 4wd the donor is 2wd.
I thought I was reading the r150 was the auto, I will research further.

Wether auto or manual, 2wd and 4wd are not interchangeable
