2nd gen Arb fit 3rd gen t4r?

Just wondering if any body knows if you could fit a 2nd gen Arb front bumper on a 3rd gen 4runner?

I can barely get my 3rd gen ARB on my 3rd gen. (bumper was in a wreck)

It could possibly be done but I'm sure you would need to make some new brackets.

Wonder if I could relocate the brackets to match a 3rd gen. Only reason I'm doing this is found a 2nd gen arb on cl for good price cause a new 3rd gen from where I'm from will cost me close to $1500 bucks by the time it gets to me.

Get the overall width measurement so you can atleast tell if it's wide enough. You could possibly make everything else work with just trimming and new brackets.

Yeah I think I'll probably do that. If it's wide enough I guess I'll just fab up some new brackets. It doesn't look too far off of the third gen bumper and will save me a whole lot of cash.

Quick answer: No. The 2nd gen is at least ~3" narrower up front. Mounting is much different as well...

It would be a lot less time consuming if you just got an ARB, or ODL, or Addicted, or whatever. Time = money IMO

That's true "time=money". According to wilkipedia 4runner specs the 1990-1995 and the 3rd gen sr5 are both 66.5" in width. Not sure about this either but I do own both vehicles so i'll have to measure both myself. Thanks for the input.

Did you measure yet? I'm just curious because there's a guy selling a 2nd gen ARB with a winch in the classifieds here.

Hmmm... Well, as I haven't actually tried it myself, I do remember reading a post way back when on Yotatech when someone tried to do this, and it wasn't a direct bolt on situation. Maybe it is the frame width I am thinking of.
