2nd gen lift thread?

Loved the 3rd gen lift thread, but what about 2nd gen?

I'm trying to determine which would be best for my 91 before I buy. I'm looking at the Toytec stuff. Am I correct in assuming I need to get the 2" kit with rear coil springs and spacers, THEN also get the front/rear shocks? Should the front shocks be the extended length? Will I also need a diff drop? Thanks for helping a new guy out.

I have had the Old Man Emu 2" lift personally, and can attest that it needs no other changes besides the lift components and shocks. No need to extend brake lines, change steering, lower any components, etc.. You do need longer shocks, though, and OME's units are built specifically with their spring rates in mind. The kit includes rear coils (either standard or HD, no spacers needed), front torsion bars, front and rear shocks, and steering stabilizer. This kit is designed to not only give extra height, but to ride extremely well, too. You can get everything, including shipping, for under $1k.

Get the diff drop if you plan on keeping your ADD system.

You can already fit a 33x10.3 stock.. Size tire are you looking to run?

Lift as little as possibly, as much as necessary.

Check out rocky-road.com. They not only carry the equipment, they also give a lot more info on the company (OME) and the parts. I'm thinking 4by4connection.com also carries OME, but it's been a while since I checked. Rocky-Road has a lot of good info on many different accessories as well, so dig around once you're in there.
