2WD, KDSS, Trac Control Off Road Questions

Its bumpy at speed on rough roads because KDSS has big thick sway bars that transfer that motion. If you have a long stretch of dirt road doing more than 25 or 30mph all you have to do is drop your air pressure about 5psi and it will be comfortable

KDSS works below 12mph.

Above that, it's like having stiffer sway bars on a car. More harsh bumps, but less roll.

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update. Checked the tire pressure this morning and it was at a whopping 52 PSI! My mind was blown! Called the dealer and they said that they must have not checked the pressure once they took delivery of it, so I'm going back next week to have them inspect the tires and make sure there is no abnormal cracking or wear on the tires due to the over inflation. I doubt anything will be wrong with them since I only put 500 miles on them, but damn 52 PSI is high...especially because max inflation pressure is 44. Unreal...

Nevertheless, I dropped them down to 35 and it's like driving a whole new car. The ride is much, much smoother. I initially thought it was KDSS, but shame on me for not checking the tire pressure first. Thanks for the advice, which ultimately led me to the problem.

if they are factory tires they should be 32psi (unless they changed for some reason since 2016, check your drivers side door)

You are correct. 32 PSI is listed on the door. The tires were warm when I deflated them which is why I kept them at 35. Will check later when they are cold and adjust as needed. Is it normal for there to be a little sidewall bulge at the contact point where the tire meets the road when properly inflated? I was reading that radial tires tend to be more flexible so assume this is normal. It's slight, but noticeable when you're standing behind or in front of the truck looking at the tires.

i haven't had the factory tires for awhile but i think they had a bit of a sidewall bulge (they are P tires), if you're pressure is correct the bulge is normal

Your tires are fine, don't waste your time taking it back to the dealer.
You said you adjusted them when warm so 52 is east to achieve when max cold is 44.
Yes, they bulge like most cars and it's not possible to tell under or over by sight unless you're really flat.
