yes the 3.0 is gutless anyway.
but in excess of that:
when under load, anything more than 1/4 throttle causes the vehicle to start bucking/jerking & has very low power.
around 2500rpm, it clears up & has the expected performance.
ideas on what to check?

head gaskets & timing belt done by toyota 500 miles ago.
has been the same in the 1000 miles i've had it.
new plugs.
no CEL.
