305/70s?

Okay, installing my lift this weekend (Tundra fronts/LC Rears) and ordering tires to pick up sometime next week. Pretty much settled on Cooper STT Pros but, I can't decide on the size I should get. It seems like everyone goes 285/75 but I was wondering if the 305/70s are doable. I'm keeping the 5 star rims so I guess squeezing a 305 on a 7 inch rim is a factor as well, right?

There is almost no difference in size between a 285/75 and a 305/70. I just did this on a tire calculator for myself. 285 is just easier to find

From what I found it's a little more than an inch taller and almost an inch wider. That's kind of a lot, right?

Im runnin Tundra/LC lift with 305/70 Cooper STT Pros and i love the set up. more then doable. The only thing is my wheels have -25mm offset and 3.52" backspacing. There will probably be some rubbing with the 5 stars mounted. As noted before 285s and 305s are very similar. You can either play it safe with the 285s or charge with the 305s and if worse comes to worse a little trimming or throw on some wheel spacers.

My setup for reference:

Oh man, I really like that. You think the rubbing will be on the A arms and stuff or more on the inner fenders? Fenders is easy to fix. A arms not quite as easy

We did the fronts earlier this afternoon, coil spring compressors are a joke. You'd think there would be a better way. Got both of them done though. We moved onto the back and the FJ80 coils are just so long, it's crazy. With two kinda sketchily placed jacks we got one side in before we decided to call it quits. We'll finish the drivers side in the morning and then hopefully an alignment and tires on Monday or Tuesday. Very excited to see it done. The front looks pretty sweet already!

Thanks, My control arms dont rub but that is probably because of the amount of offset and backspacing i have. the rubbing would be in the fenders
