3rd Gen 4Runner Raptor Grille Complete!

hi, i have the same model 4runner with the hood scoop version i had a question about the front grill. did you use the same stock grill piece and build on to it or did you get a whole new plastic piece and put that in?
 
Thanks for posting. I'm already working on my Satoshi grille mod, but I wish I would have seen this earlier . . . yours looks great!

If you have a hood scoop and it is factory then your grille won't work because you have a 99-02 presumably. To do the Satoshi style grille you need a 96-98 grille. You can get a new one for cheap. $50 for a non chrome one on rock auto. That's where I got mine. My stock chrome 2001 one is stored somewhere just in-case I want to go back.

So i registered a few days ago and this is my first post, hey everybody I'm JT.

I hope this isnt considered spam since I don't work for said company, but did some trolling around, found a company selling the letters for 14 bucks each. It's hard to beat if you are 1. lazy, 2. want an accurate cut, or 3. not mechanically inclined.

Grill Lettering ? Bullet Proof Fabricating

If this is against any rules or something I missed I apologize and please delete, but I thought it was relevant since earlier in the thread it wasn't cost effective for unner and I'm a huge fan of this look and will definitely be buying some letters.

The BAMF letters are like $50 shipped on their website for all 6 letters. I'd just go with them instead.
 
Does BAMF use steel or aluminum? I'd use aluminum because it wont rust & it's lighter.

Any decent Sign company should be able to make these letters for you locally.
You could even go with something like Sintra or Styrene which will never rust. There are many choices of thicknesses with those 2 substrates too & they come in Black.
 
I like the grill, but I don't think the big letters match the style of the 3Rd Gen styling. They match the new trucks OK I guess. I would go with a blank lettered grill. Plus I'm not super keen on advertising for Toyota on my 3Rd Gen. Toyota has been getting pretty stingy on parts support for their older models. In just a few years Toyota is going to just allow what parts they have in Stock for our 3Rd gens to be used up without replenishing stock and then we're screwed. Likely they are already doing this for some 3Rd Gen parts. Their way of telling their customers to upgrade and junk the old model.
 




I've since had the grille done in Line-x. I think it's the best looking grille on T4R personally. I also built it to my personal tastes.

I've been thinking about making a few extra on the side to sell here. What would people actually pay for one of these? Just the parts aren't cheap plus it'd have to be worth my time. May make another thread on this later.

They're Aluminum. I only painted the fronts because I knew they wouldn't
rust. They're held on with 3M double sided tape. Still going strong.
