I bought a 99 limited and I basically spent all my money on it but I wanted a lift ASAP. So I decided I wa gonna try my luck at the junk yard. I was able to find a set of 2002 tundra 4x4 trd coils with bilstein shocks for $20. I was pretty happy about that except 1 shock was bad. So I have to work around that. But the more important find was the rear springs.. I basically just went with anything I thought looked good and had a firm feel.. It seems everyone is so stuck on LC coils or OME which I love and would rather have any day of the week but THIS WEEK I don't have $200 for rear coils...
So I found a set of 97-2000 ish ford f150 front coils. They are on the left (i already cut a half a coil off the top and bottom) then 2002 and the longer one is off my 1999, all 3rd gen. All I had to do to make the ford spring work is cut exactly half a coil off the top (to make the cone fit in) and half a coil off the bottom (to make the bottom coil seat properly) and done deal. I have like 3-4" of lift from stock. Once I get to a computer I will post all the pics.. The point is, any coil the is close to fitting will work with minor fab. My ride is fantastic on the interstate but a little rough over speed bumps.. It is probably a little firmer than I would like. I would suggest a v6 ford f150 if you do go this route. But I'm gonna try another scrap spring next week and I will let you know another option. But these springs are free if you go to your local 4x4 shop.. They have them laying around everywhere.. That is what I did on the rears.. Sorry for the sideways view.. Can't fix from phone..
