I need help with an issue on the climate controller in my 2002 4runner with manual climate control. There is no auto button.
When I’m running the heat, everything works fine and then randomly it will start blowing cold air. If I cycle the temperature knob back-and-forth a couple of times, it will go back to blowing warm air. The same thing happens when I run the air conditioner. The AC works fine and then all of a sudden it will start blowing warm air. If I turn the temperature knob back-and-forth a few times, it will go back to blowing cold air. I have the manual climate controller.
I see several people have made repairs to the automatic climate controller, but I’m not sure if that applies to the manual climate controller. Any suggestions on what might be going on? I am thinking I just need to replace the climate controller, but I’d like to see if anybody else has ran into this. Not sure if it could also be a blend door servo. I feel like that's the 2 choices, but how can you make that determination without just replacing them and hoping for the best?
