3rd Gen Spoiler

Has anyone considered mounted LED's to their rear spoiler?

I've seen some people do it on the 4th/5th gen spoiler but not on a 3rd yet. I don't see why it wouldn't work though. Especially if you keep the light mounted close to the spoiler mounts. Would be pretty straightforward I think, the spoilers are pretty solid. You could even re-use the mounting holes with longer hardware!

I don't understand how the design slows the dirt buildup on the back window.

(In theory), It catches air across the top of the roof, and directs it straight down the back glass, blowing any dust/light debris off.

LED light on spoiler

I'm not talking about removing the spoiler. The spoiler from what I can tell looks like a solid piece of metal. I am talking about cutting holes in the spoiler for LED lights. The spoiler is angled up, so to mount the light where it is going straight back or angled down I would need something to help mount it angled down. I do not want a bulky light, I looking for a flush mount LED flood light that I can adjust the angle of. What I have found so far:

I would prefer to have it mounted angled down at around 15 degrees though, I could use 2 of those angle mount kits back to back, but I don't know if that would look good. I might have to make my own mount.

Is that wired up to the rear light instead of a separate switch? So when you put the brake on it lights up?

Nope, it's wired to it's own switch. I just led the wires through the third brake light cuz it was the easiest way to get them into the cab without messing up any of the weatherproofing. Also, there's 4 other lights mounted on the roof rack so there was alot of wiring to get inside.

I've seen people mount up led pods (rigid dually style) to the spoiler. They used the adjustable mount and were able to get whatever angle they wanted. This isn't flush though. But I was saying you could use the hardware from the spoiler to mount it while still keeping the spoiler. If you got longer bolts and passed it through the mount and spoiler together. It might prevent having to drill out the spoiler.
