3rd row TRD pro or off road

Currently have a blacked out 17 SR premium with the 3rd row and 46k miles and lightly modified.
Trd pro shocks (clearance sale) , trd pro skid plate (black), trd pro wheels, roof rails painted matte black to match wheels.

Dealer offered 30k on trade; I checked out the 21 models on the lot and wasnt impressed. Did like the updated head lights and new stereo with apple car play. There was a lunar rock trd pro that just arrived that morning. The lunar rock is a nice color in person and congrats to those who bought one.

Would like to buy either a trd off road premium or pro with a 3rd row. Is this a possible option? 3rd row will be needed for 3 kids in a few years. Looked at a tundra but with 3 kids that is kinda off the table.

3rd row is not available in a Pro. I know you say you have a 3rd row now. Sounds like ur planning on growing your family. IMHO, that 3rd row is pretty darn small and not worth the extra space it takes up. Although it may work for a few years, kids grow fast. I'd look at bumping up to a Sequoia.

yes they do grow up fast, yes sequoia is an option. Really enjoy the 4runner

As he said only the SR5 and Limited have 3rd row options and it is tiny back there. I have two kids and the 4runner is great, but I couldn't imagine a 3rd kid taking up half of my trunk space with all of the stuff we bring when we take trips. A Seqouia or other much bigger vehicle I think is your best best. My wife drives a much bigger 3rd row (VW Atlas) and thats suits us well when we need the extra space as it is huge inside. It's nice to have even if it means I can't drive my 4R.

we did a 36 hour round trip with a car seat back there. Its not too bad for kids but think I'll probably need to buy a larger SUV. Yukon, sequoia or navigator.

Can't have a big belly cause the knees come up quiet a bit. My eight year old and 6 yr old and their friends fight over the 3rd row.

I just did 2,500 round trip to Florida and averaged 13.5mpg with a 5.7l Tundra. The Sequoia (same drivetrain) will be comfy, roomy and highly capable but gas prices aren't exactly going down.... Maybe keep the 4Runner you have for fun and look into a mini-van for family hauling?

I agree with everything here, sounds like our uses are the same. We have also used it often enough to almost deem "essential". If the 3rd row wasn't offered we wouldn't own a 4runner. It's really nice when we visit family or they visit us to only have to take one vehicle to places (especially the grandparents). I will say when using the 3rd row a roof-top carrier becomes very useful as the new storage/trunk space.

I have an SR5 Premium with the 3rd row; the grand kids love it!

The problem with the other recommended options (Sequoia, Tundra, VW Atlas, ect) is they are not really capable off road vehicles like the 4Runner.

I have both a roof top cargo box (Yakima), and a utility trailer for the ATV that solves the space problem when going long distance with seven people.
