4.7 V8 bone head cranked engine with intake capped.

Yup, super stupid brain fart. Mid way through t-belt job. I decided to attach the battery, defeat the ignition, and spin things over to see how things sounded and make sure timing marks stayed put.
A dumb thing to do in any case. To make matters worse I forgot to remove the rubber cap over the throttlebody's intake.
I'm wonder where the engine would go next for air. Air idol control? Evap system? Heavens forbid engine or crankcase seal?
If you've done such a thing before and care to admit it I'd love to hear your story.
Or maybe you'd like to speculate. Please do.

I'd like to offer this seems a senior moment as I done many t-belts and chains. (Complete rebuilds, valve jobs, ect.) Mostly on Toyotas in recent years and even a couple of
4.7 v8s. This is my first such issue. They've all been successful. I'm pushing 74 solar orbits and thinking it might be time to hang up the torque wrench....

Not yet Bob, I'm 76 and hope to be able to do my 4.7L timing belt when it comes due in couple years!

Two days ago I would have agreed. But I'm feeling like I could have really screwed up this time. Wife's medical appointments will dictate when I can get back to it. Hopefully later this afternoon or tomorrow.
In the meantime care to guess what damage may have occurred as a result of my "senior moment" ?

I'm not sure you've done any damage unless you cranked for several seconds and then probably not much if any. I wouldn't know where to tell you to look. Keep an eye out for leaks after you return to service.

Ok to my surprise the vehicle is fine no signs of any issues at all. Which leaves me wondering where it got that nearly 300 cubic inch of air on every revolution?
But, why question it as alls well. However it's nothing l would try to repeat...
