4" Springs Too Much for 33x10.50?

I am in dire need of some new springs to get my 4runner back on the road. I looked through the sticky of the lift/tire pictures, and there werent that many leaf sprung 4runners (1985 model) running 4" springs. The couple I did see looked really high.

I would like to clear my 33x10.50s without rubbing or pounding, but I don't want any more than that. I don't plan on going to larger tires any time in the near future if ever. So I don't need to plan for 35" or anything.

Should I go with 3" or 4" springs? And to encourage responses - here is what needs lifting:

I would go with 4 inch personally cause if you plan to offroad any and you get to flexing that extra inch will benefit a lot and give you more clearence

Did you have another thread that you deleted? Cuz I thought I already answered this question from you once.

I had 255/85s on my '85 for a while. OME springs and a six inch shackle and I still had to trim and pound to get a clean stuff. Four inches will feel very high, I'd go three and get out the hammer.

I did have a similar thread in which you provided input. There I was trying to figure out whether I should buy new springs or try building a set. I dont think this opinion ever made it into that thread though and is what I am looking for. Thanks for the input - in both threads.

Depends on the wheeling you're going to do. I think 3" would be perfect.
I have 3" springs and 37's on my second gen, and love the set up! Low COG is a good thing! Sweet truck by the way!

I just clearanced my fenders to fit 34x10.50 super swampers on my stock height 3rd gen and it wasn't bad at all.
