4 Wheel Parts?

So I found the B&M 70264 Tranny cooler from them for a good price. Would you guys recommend them to install it for me? I keep hearing bad reviews of this place. Still trying to find a truck place in Socal that specializes in Toyotas. I found Outlaw Offroad. Are they any good?

I say install it yourself. The tranny cooler is pretty easy to install. you don't need any specialty tools, I think it's just a screwdriver and a crescent wench.
 
Yeah everyones been telling me that on the forum but I have never worked on a car in my life. Plus, I dont have a driveway or garage to do it.
 
ya gotta start somewhere! do it at home! ...to me its like bonding time and getting to know your truck..
 
I've had HORRIBLE service at 4 Wheel Parts, so I highly recommend that you stay away from them. Like others have said, the installation is pretty straight forward, especially if you can get a buddy to help that knows a thing or two about working on cars. If you do decide to pay a shop, I wouldn't even consider 4WP for the job.

If you want to make the drive out to Rialto, I can recommend a buddy that does side work out of his garage. He has also worked as a tech for a living probably longer than most people on this site have been driving, so he does know a thing or two about vehicles. PM me if you want his contact info.
 
I love 4wheel parts. We have one on the East Coast and their service at our store is top notch, the techs are highly skilled and knowledgable about our type of vehicles.
 
i wouldnt even let 4wp look at my truck, they are terrible and just a bunch of jerks who think they are about something... find a small local shop or garage. do not go to 4wp

I agree with this to a degree as I've only had experience with the local 4WP's. When I was looking for my wheels, I called them to see if they had them in stock and they said they did. I asked them to check as I was about 30-40min away and I didn't want to drive up there for nothing. They said they were there. Got there and nope, no wheels and they proceeded to show me all of the "better" options. I was floored. I definitely won't be going back there anytime soon.

I absolutely hate/dispise people who waste my Time and/or Gas, and salesmen are the WORSE!!!!
 
WOW!! I went there today and they wanted 300 to install it! The tranny cooler itself is only 80 bucks and they said it would take 3 hrs to install.
 
I have about 10 4wp stories about their incompetence at every level.

My best friend worked for them for 6 years and has no better things to say.

the latest came today after I decided to order a Limited Slip diff for my front diff.. I called with the parts number figuring they cant screw this up... the website lists the part for 440$.

the guy answers, finds the part, I ask him to order it, about to give him my card and then oh, so sorry, the price I just quoted you is no longer valid, we changed the part # and its gonna cost you 115$ more for the same thing...

fast switches, false advertising, they pull this crap all the time, I said no thanks, Ill wait an extra 7 days for Summit Racing to send it to me for 115$ less.

After 3 years of boycotting I thought, maybe they are different... no chance

there are plenty of guys in socal in the LA area here that can help you, try a post asking for install help,

Im sure some of the guys will help. They are awesome.

an offer of a couple beers and or some food will bring em in for sure! :0)

So are they dishonest as well? I don't think it takes 3 hours to install a tranny cooler. Also $100 an hour seems pretty steep.

it took me 3 hours to remove my bumper(with brush guard) relocated all 4 horns, re wire them, wire my temp sending unit, and plumb both trans coolers and i still had time for pizza... one simple trans cooler should only take about 30-45min tops from start to actual motor start(finish)

its probably because you asked them to install it and they know its such an easy job they figured this guy doesnt even know how to use a wrench or screwdriver let alone own one so we can just rape him on this and he will have no clue...

Haha I ain't that dumb. 300 to me sounded insane. I called a few shops today. Theres this one shop I talked to who only works on Toyotas he said that they don't install aftermarket stuff. So I asked him about installing a Toyota tranny cooler and he told me those aren't any good and I should just get an aftermarket one and go to any old radiator shop to install it. Then later on, I called another shop where I've been going to for years to get my Accord serviced and they told me they can install tranny coolers and they sale B&M's. He still hasn't called me back on how much it will cost though. I'll keep you guys posted on my saga.
