4Runner Drawer/Camping/Storage System

The Drawer Plans are finally out!
After many efforts and delays, I am happy to announce to everyone that the drawer plans are finally out! :whoo:

This is a modular system designed for use in the 4th gen 4Runner that I built for myself. This means if someone wants to build just one part of the 4 part system, they should be able to. It also likely can be adapted to different generation 4Runners, hence me posting here as well!

My motivations for making this free are a direct result of the community. I have won t4r 4runner of the month in the past, I have met many people at local meets, and have have always had so many questions answered all for free. So, this is my way of saying thanks.

Use it for tailgating, use it to carry your recovery gear, camping gear, spare parts, or even kid's toys. Whatever makes you happy.

To get the plans, simply go to the website, add all of the items to the cart and checkout. It'll be $0.00 and you'll get a link in your email to download.

To order the parts, the list is on the website with amazon links.

Enjoy!

Pretty awesome Adam!! Thank you for your contribution. I've considered revising mine but will look into this. Thinking about deleting my 3rd seat. =)

Not sure too sure of the $15 value as I don't know the quality of the instructions, how its assembled, or even the parts list...

Thanks for sharing tho, looks like it works for your needs!

This is amazing! I have a 5th gen but I was interested in the parts that you used.

Also, the detail of the drawer plans were excellent! It reminded me of my wood- working class manuals! Great job bud!

Looking forward to seeing plans for the 5th gen. Do you think it can be adaptable for folks with the slide out tray?

The what?

Poor 4th gen me has no idea that this is an option. Can anyone elaborate more for me on this? are there any other model year differences in the trunk or options?

He’s referring to the rear sliding cargo tray. It’s an upgradable option for all 5th gens (2010-2018). Essentially it allows you to pull the rear cargo deck out about 2’ to aid in loading gear. I attached a random photo from the internet.

oh wow! ok I'll need two fifth gens to measure then.

I've gone ahead and downloaded the current plans so I could get an idea of costs and build times. Do you happen to have a rough estimate of what this weighs minus the refrigerator? I ask because I am working on replacing the rear springs and knowing that would help in my choice. Very nice setup.

The most expensive parts are the 500# lockable drawer sliders. I'm still not sure if I need 500# sliders though it would definitely cut the price of the build
