My 2007 Civic EX NAVI has made in Ohio. I, too, had SOME reservations about that, but she is now at 204,XXX miles. Rock solid reliability. One of the best cars I've ever had. I wouldn't worry about if a Honda/Toyota is made in the USA.
As much as I love the 4R (all gens), they are lousy family vehicles. When I got mine several years ago (before we had our daughters), I got it b/c I thought it was big enough and it was SAFE. Well, it meets all my criteria, but the mid-size SUVs have come a long way. If I were in the market for a family SUV today, sadly I can't bring myself to get another 4R (unless it's exclusively mine).
I'm partial to the Pilot as it's based on the Odyssey. I think it's HUGE inside without the look of a minivan (I love minivans BTW, with 2 infants and lugging the in laws along, they can't be beat). My sister has a 08 Highlander and they love it. It's very nice, but it seems smallish/cramped to me compared to the Pilot. I often have my parents down visiting and the in laws as well. When we have to jet somewhere, we HAVE to take 2 cars. Sucks. If I had a Pilot (minivan.....can't stand the Sienna) this wouldn't be an issue. Having more space is always a plus.
