4Runners everywhere!

I purchase a 2000 4Runner on Friday and when I was on my way home Saturday I saw too many to count. Also saw one that was my twin. 2000 sr5 sport. but I liked mine better cause it was mine.

They are all over Houston, TX. Any given drive there are 2-3 of them in traffic. I rarely see 10-15 Year Old vehicles in this quantity or still in good condition. I am a Realtor and drive through some pretty nice neighborhoods and it is amazing how many old Tacomas, 4Runners and Land Cruisers I see in the driveways. Many of the affluents hold on to items until they have lost their usable life or go in for repairs too much.

In my family alone we have my 1997 4Runner, 2008 Rav4, 2003 Seinna, 2002 Highlander FWD, 2002 LandCruiser, 2007 Tacoma, 2009 Tacoma, 1996 4Runner, 1969 FJ, 2004 4Runner. When we all get together it looks like a Toyota preowned lot. Out of all those vehicles I can only recall 2 major issues - the Seinna (12x,xxx miles) got a pin hole in the radiator, and the Land Cruiser (16X,XXX Miles ish) front diff seized up on a roadtrip.

Pretty good odds....

On the Subaru note, I have my dad looking for good deals in central Illinois for Subaru's so I can have him drive them out to make a little extra cash. Turns out Illinois doesn't have any.

Subarus are rediculously priced out here. I bought a Subi STI and found one in NM for $32k with 3800 miles on it,anything near that was over $35k+ here in CO. Car was a bit much for my wife and didn't get a chance to drive it much so we sold it several months and several thousand miles later for $34k.
