ughhhh just when I had myself talked out of buying kings with compression adjusters and dirt king uppers and feeling financially responsible for once...... the urge is back again lol

I DO NOT have adjusters. They come valved from King. After speaking with Richard from @totalautomotiveperformance I was confident that I wouldn't need the adjusters. The amount of time I spend on the trails compared to driving to work leans way more towards driving to work. I wouldn't say I'm a mall crawler but I would say that I'm not living on fire roads and off roading everyday. Every weekend for sure though! Anza-Borrego and Corral Canyon call way too loudly for me not to listen!

Also, if you find a place to install them yourself...you'll save the cost of not only the install but of buying the shocks with adjusters...might as well buy a nice set of skids or whatever you're telling yourself you won't buy "until you have the cash"!!!

Well duh your missing the huge red knobs lol. I'm about the same way maybe 50/50 since I vanpool to work and usually out in the desert every weekend. I just want the ability to adjust since I'm in a mixture of terrain from fast sand washes to slower technical stuff.

And yea install myself that's easy work. And most the other things I can make myself I'm a machinist by trade and do fab work on my spare time, my rocksliders are about done still debating making skids since I hate how low most the options seem to hang. I was thinking of building my own arms but no extra stock arm's to build a jig off of or the time really.

It's just the list of projects on my plate especially with a new house and going thru the remodel on that. And I still have my 51 chevy still needs to be finished. So many other things need money and time thrown at them but I find myself only interested with the 4r and nervously nail biting for the weekend when I can get out at explore.

I put 10,000+ miles on my stock suspension before the Kings upgrade and honestly I cannot get enough of them! I installed them myself on a Saturday and that night I was finding things in my town to drive over and onto, to get a gauge of how the feel was compared to the stock parts. They're pretty amazing. My tires were upgraded from Dunlop 265s to BFGoodrich A/T KO2s 275/70/17 E at 8,000+ miles. There has been zero issue with the new tires rubbing. They give me a lot more grip on trails and look BOSS. The folks over @TotalAutomotivePerformance really hooked it up. I spoke with Richard and he knew exactly the type of driving conditions I would encounter and what I needed to go with the Kings. If and when you get the Kings make sure to adjust the height of them before installing! [MENTION=139709]Quebec[/MENTION] did a great post about how to adjust the shocks to the height you desire. However, like I said in my post there was slight rubbing. Just make sure you install the reservoirs in their proper place (tightly) you'll be fine. I highly recommend them. Fionna is my daily driver and I commute around 60ish miles a day on the 15 here in SD. The suspension couldn't be smoother. I also removed my sway bar for more articulation, feel, etc out on the trails and there has been zero issues on the highway with too much roll.

All of that being said I live by the motto of better to have and not need than to need and not have. If you can swing the cash for Kings DO IT and cry later while you're enjoying a great suspension!!!

Have you been in a setup with the bilstein 6112/5160?
i'm very tempted to purchase the kings. i know i'll put them to use eventually but not anytime soon (got a newborn & 3 yr old). it's hard to get away right now.

I have not used the Bilstein setup, I can imagine it's a good setup but the Kings!!!!!!!!!!!! Life does happen and I totally understand.

lol i completely understand. my friend had a kings setup in his truck and i had swayaway/racerunners in mine. but that was early 2000s so i think i remember but its been a loooooooong time lol

Had a great time out on the Corral Canyon trails today! Got lots of desert striping on Fionna! Jake the golden retriever puppy loved all of the rock gardens and deep ruts. Also, I tested out my new Kings setup. 2.5" all around with remote reservoirs and Dirt King UCAs. There was slight rubbing on the reservoir hose but after a quick hose clamp adjustment everything was good to go. I loved Gunslinger and would love to make more runs if anyone wants to go!!!

I'm not sure you all can understand the depression I often feel seeing your pictures, then looking at your location - From Seattle, Oregon, anywhere PNW, to SoCal, out to UT, AZ, CO......you have endless, WIDE OPEN places to explore, get off the main road, and get lost.

Up here in the Northeast it just seems incredibly limited compared to ya'll. My buddy has a lake house up in the Adirondacks which are gorgeous, but still very closed-in.

I just really appreciate seeing the opportunities you have out West, and I'm glad you take advantage of them!

I feel for you! It's shocking how little truly open space there is in the eastern half of the country.

She is a 14 year old chiweenie. Before they became a designer type breed, a family members dauschund and their neighbors chihuahua got really acquainted. My wife saw this adorable puppy and wouldn't let me leave without taking her home. She has been a great dog and opened my eyes to the world of small dogs.
