Decided to skip camping this trip as it's getting into the low 20's and teens at night and rented this little A frame cabin in June Lake. Real nice and has a backyard full of aspens with a great view of Carson Peak.

Awesome picture. I almost rented that same place this last year. I remember it because it looked like a "real" cabin compared to everything else I was looking at around Mammoth. Thanks for the pic. How was the experience at the cabin?

Overall it was great, I'd probably rate it an 8/10.

My only real complaint is that there's no dishwasher, and you are required to do all the dishes by hand. For myself that isn't a problem, but some of the dishes from the previous renter weren't exactly clean. So much to the fact some still had spots of food in them.

I'm not sure how the company didn't see that when they checked over the house, but they clearly missed that.

Other than that it was real nice. Nobody else stayed at the other four cabins so I didn't have to worry about noise or anything (though for the price I wouldn't expect party people).

There isn't AC so keep that in mind for Summer, but they do supply fans. There are heaters in each room which is nice, and the main living room area has a nice fireplace. Granted it's small because of the size of the cabin, so really can only burn one log, maybe two at a time (they supply chopped wood too).

Overall we liked it. It was like a true cabin and that's why we rented it. I would always go with #5 just because if you want to sit on your deck in the back you won't have to see everyone else on theirs like you would for 1-4, and you have a ton of trees and mountain views.

It's not a big house, and there's only one closed bedroom. The other beds are all next to each other in a loft upstairs. The stairs are pretty steep too, so for older or children, probably not a good idea.

The couch in the living room can fold out into a bed though so that's a nice backup plan.
