How do you like that Kingdome tent? I've been considering getting that as the car camping tent since I think as a 6' tall person I should be able to basically stand inside of it, would you say that's true?
How were the trails? Make any contact underneath or use the sliders at any point?
We have the Kingdom 6 model, and with only two of us and a dog, there is a massive amount of space on the inside. I'm 5'11" and can stand up just fine. It's a very comfortable tent to move around in. If you plan on staying in one spot for multiple nights, then the setup and takedown aren't bad. However we quickly got tired of that being at 4 different campsites over 6 nights. We were right around 30 minutes to set up the tent and our sleeping pads/bags and about 45 minutes to pack everything back up. Being so tall, it does catch quite a bit of wind. We had trouble staking it into the rocky ground we were camped on at Big Bend so we improvised with some big rocks.
I didn't think any of the back roads were all that bad. We had no issues navigating any of the terrain we encountered, however we did not go too far west.

The River Road trail really isn't a 4Wheel drive road unless it rains. You probably need some clearance but I wouldn't hesitate doing it in a Subaru or something similar. The only real 4x4 road is Black Gap and it's not bad, the hardest part going through the actual Black Gap and I followed a Jeep Grand Cherokee up it and it had no problems.
