Hey guys and gals! New guy here from Maryland. Just bought my first Toyota that happens to be a nice 03 Sport Edition V8. Never thought I would own one until I totaled my 00 Cherokee sport. My love affair originally started with hondas and low stance cars back when I was in my teens. As Ive gotten older (28) I started getting into 4x4's and such. Havent really done a bunch with this 4runner yet as ive owned it for about 2 months now. I got it with 127,500 miles for about $8000. Only thing ive done is Installed a switch for turning off traction control and removed the carbon filter. Gained about 3/4 of a mile per gallon lol. Ive done my research on what i want.

Future Plans
Removes XREAS
Tacoma TRD Front suspension and rear shocks.
Toytec SuperFlex rear springs.
33" tires with a good size foot print.
Possibly TRD pro Wheels
And a bunch of other odds and ends....

Wet sand and buffed the headlight lenses.
Before on the right. After on the left

Happy new year! On friday I changed the oil and since i was under there i decided to remove the running boards. I like the visual effect that it looks like it has more ground clearance. Inthink it makes the 265 65 BFG's look a little better as well.

I know everyone loves removing the mudflaps and running boards but after removing both of mine I got so many chips on my passenger side that I mistook them for dust.

Just a word of caution.

Yea I could see that happening but I'm not gonna get rid of my mud flaps untill I need to for bigger tires if I actually need more room.

Ordered a cheap set of 5000k HID's. $29 from ebay. Installing them tonight.

That's a nice color combo on that Runner:yo:

I see you're looking at the Tacoma suspension swap... Don't bother with the rear shocks if you're going to do the Superflex coils. The Tacoma shocks aren't long enough to handle those coils. I had the same set up for about a month and every time I hit a speed bump, or any type of bump, I could hear the shocks trying to over extend.

Yea i have been following your build and thats where i got the idea for the Taco suspension. Ill take your advice on that. Maybe ill look into some 5100's and just use the TRD coils up front.. Im waiting on doing my taxes to have the funds to do the lift. Hopefuly in the next month or so.

Cant complain about how it handled the snow. With a lift it will be awesome.

Just ordered a set of 5100's found them the cheapest on ebay. I love ebay lol now to decide what im going to put on them. Either stock springs up front at the top notch with a 1/4 spacer and stock springs in the rear with 1.5" spacer should get me about 3/1.5 total f/r. Not sure if that will be level? Also gonna order sime trail rig 1.5" spacers for front and rear. I have bfg all terains 265/65/17 that are fairly new so thats what ill run for a while until i decide to get bigger tires. Going for 33's

Wish we got that sort of accumulation here! Jealous, but glad you got out and drove in it.

We usuaully dont get that much. Maybe once every couple years. This storm broke some records for us. We usually get that much in a winter all together. It was fun though.

how much did the 4 5100's run you?

32" up here just north of Philly, love it...4runner stock was better than all the jeeps I've owned...

$335 shipped and yea i dont think my xj with a 3" lift and 31" tires would have handled as well as my stock 4runner. I do miss it sometimes though. It was so clean and going doorless was a blast.
