4th Gen Factory Armor?

How good is what comes on the vehicle? Recommended upgrades?

I have the tubular step bars which I need for getting stuff on and off the roof rack, but I'd like some sliders. Does anyone make sliders that also come out and are good step bars?

I personally like the fit of the Shrockworks sliders, but if you want something that is more "step friendly" in terms of hopping up to load luggage, I'd follow the build for these Demello sliders:

The Shrockworks are much more flush with the rockers. I don't own either, so I can't testify, but I've been following pics of both for a long time hoping to make an impulse buy one day.... :bonk:

The factory tube steps are just that, steps. Take them off if you are going to off road it. They won't help at all off road. I have the Shrockworks sliders and prefer the way they fit and they are relatively easy to install since they are bolt on. They are extremely strong.

As for a step, while that isn't their intended use they can accommodate. Not a lot of space between them and the body, so it's mostly a "toe" step. It gets me to the roof rack and my wife uses it to get in the truck.

Here are a few pics. You can see that they fit the 4th gen nice and snug to the body, but there is room to step on them.
