4th gen suspension on 3rd gen?

like the title reads, does anyone know if 4th gen suspension will work on a 3rd gen. mainly just the springs front and rear. i have an oportunity to aquire 4th gen suspension. it is used with 100 and a quarter miles on em. is it worth it? is newer suspension stiffer or close to the same. should i bother?

I am pretty sure that's a no on all 4th gen suspension parts. Otherwise the 3rd gen owners would be all over that. I believe it's the sizes are very different.

Pretty sure this is correct. In fact, I think I saw a 4th gen owner looking for LC REAR springs for their rear, whereas we use their FRONTs (different coil diameter).

The springs will probably work yielding a small lift assuming these are stock springs. Don't use the front shocks though.

Toytec advertises their eibach springs in the 3rd gen section provide a 1.5" lift for 4th gen 4runners instead of the 3" lift it provides for 3rd gens. Unless there is something implied that I don't know about the 4th gen springs should give you roughly a 1-1.5" lift.

Fj springs have been put on a 3rd gen 4runner or two

Don't know about springs, but people are using the rear Bilstein 5100 from 4th Gens (33-187174) I believe this is also the one Toytec is selling with there super flexes for 'extreme' travel. Just know though that shock at full compression is 14.91" which would require your bumps to be lowered quite a bit. I think Steve @ SS doesn't recommend going beyond the 14.5" mark.
But this is all 'Internet' knowledge, not first hand;-)

I love my FJ springs. They are perfect for the rear end. Just the right amount of stiffness for me.

Are we talking FJ80 or FJ Cruiser? I know 80 fronts work in the rear, but hadn't heard of FJ Cruiser springs.

Ive been talking fj cruiser springs. FJ cruiser springs will work...its been done front and rear. I just don't know if 4th gen springs are the same as the fj cruiser springs.

im not doing a lift any time. honestly if your a decent wheeler you dont need a lift (IMOP) but simply looking for more stiffness and less sotness in the rear. i have OEM stock springs in the rear, so new OEM should be stiffer.
