4wd light stuck on

Hey there everyone. I have a little bit of an issue. Every since I bought the truck the 4wd dash light has been stuck on. I have put it up on jacks and ran it just to make sure it wasn't in 4wd, and it wasn't. I need help finding out what is causing it. Has this issue happened to anyone else? and if so what was the culprit? I don't really know what could be going on. Any help would be appreciated. Could it be a sensor and if so what sensor??

Yes.
Look at your transfer case or tranny (not sure which one). There should be something that clings to the side looking like this.... Check that and/or wiring for short.

Mine looks a little different. Is this the right sensor?? If so the wires are good. could it just be the sensor?

Yes, it could be the switch itself - it is in an inhospitable place., but Visual inspection is not enough.
Need a multi-meter to verify properly. $6 at Harbor Freight.
Need to find the connector you can remove to access terminals of the sensor/switch.

So I went ahead and got a multi meter and checked the switch and it was toast. I ordered a new sensor and replaced it. The only bad thing is that the 4wd light is still stuck on. Ig ill have to test the wires to it again. Any other ideas would be greatly apprciated
