.5” cornfed spacer - any issues with KDSS?

I’m looking to add a .5” cornfed top hat spacer to a 19 ORP just to lift the front 1” for a more leveled look. Would there be any issues with the KDSS during install or after with this mild of a lift?

No issue with relation to KDSS.

I am not sure if Conrfed can do custom thickness spacers to compensate for lean (with KDSS you normally have a small lean to the passenger side and without KDSS the lean is on the driver side), so may be it is good time to address that- it is not necessary- just my $0.2.

Also, you may what to double check if you will need longer bolts on the on the top strut assembly to accommodate spacer… hopefully with 0.5” you don’t, otherwise you will need to disassemble both strut to replace those 3 bolts (studs) on each site.

As with any lift make sure you do the alignment after the install.
 
Thanks. The spacers come with low profile nuts so you can still use the stock bolts. So is the KDSS lean present without a lift, at stock height? I haven’t really noticed it but I haven’t really looked closely? If so does it become worse with a lift?

IMHO: Every truck has the lean (my 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen 4Runners had it): it just leans the opposite side with KDSS vs. without.
Lean is usually very small (0.25” to 0.5”) … some people here reported more… just FYI: my truck (with KDSS) had 0.25” lean on the passenger side before the lift, so I customized my lift to account for that- see my signature for details.

Lean under 0.5” is not really visible and but can be detected when you measure it… this is for OCD people and I am one of them and that is why I have made my comment…

Lean should not be impacted by the lift, however some have reported that it did… like they had 0.5” lean before and after the lift it is full inch…
 
You don’t need offset spacers. Your coils are already offset. I have the 0.5 inch spacer for 1 inch of lift and have had no issues.

It doesn’t cause any issues with the KDSS, and you don’t actually have to disconnect the sway bars to install it.

Source: I’ve had them on my ORP w/ KDSS since a month after I got it.

Ok that’s interesting. I’ve seen where you do have to disconnect the sway bar obviously it’s easier if you don’t.

There’s enough travel once you disconnect the lower control arm to give enough clearance to slide the spacer on top of the shock. I did it by myself so I just used the bottle jack to hold the control arm down instead of the pry bar method some guys talk about. You can slide the shock assembly out a bit after undoing the bottom bolt and you’ll have plenty of room to work with.

I wanted nothing to do with disconnecting the KDSS. It looks like a giant pain in the ass to get them back in properly.
