Go Rhino 6862442987ps Steel OE Xtreme II Sidesteps Kit w Brackets for Tacoma | eBay

I figured it was a typo - so I inquired for a correct price. Received this response:

We have temporarily raised the price of this item due to inventory issues. We will have the price back to normal when inventory is redily available again. However, if a consumer was to purchase this item for 5000.00 we would certainly find and ship them one.

Thank you for your inquiry!

Wow... so basically if someone paid WAY over the retail, the company would take the money instead of explaining that its not the true retail price of the item. That just makes me want to stay away from that company to be honest...

But they have free shipping, PLUS 12 month financing is available through PayPal Credit! That's less than $417 a month! I don't know why you haven't already placed your order! :lmao:

Yeah...this thing has been kicked around pretty good on the tacomaworld forum today.

One responder claims that some ebay sellers will setup multiple accounts. Account A will list a product for an outrageous price. Account B will list it for far less, but still way over market value. Naïve buyer then buys from Account B.

Who knows?

Obviously anyone who pays $5K for boards/steps/tubes is an idiot.

In spite of this, I've added the name of this ebay seller to my "don't buy from list".

The following is supposedly a comment made by the seller to a member on the tacomaworld forum:

PS. why are you so concerned about the prices of products on a free market anyways?

I've installed a lot of Go Rhino stuff over the years. Just about all of their stuff is cheesy and rusts pretty quick. I would imagine these steps would be no different. They would have to pay me $5K to put them on.

The Powersellers just raise the price so high no one will bid when they are out of inventory. They will cancel the order if someone tries to order one for $5000 because they have nothing to ship. It's to protect their status in the search feature. If they withdraw the listing they'll be on the last page next time they have inventory to sell.
