5th Gen custom bump stops. need some input

Hey guys, I designed custom front bump stops for 3rd gen 4runners that replace the OEM bump stop. They eliminate hard bottom outs and keep the truck more stable at higher speeds by obsorbing the impact opposed to the hard bottom out of the OEM bumps. I have been asked numerous times if I have any plans on making 5th gen bumps and here I am...

I am now working on a new design for the 5th gen 4runner and want to hear what you guys think.

This particular prototype is dual durometer rubber. It has a 3/16" steel base with a firm rubber mid-body and a soft rubber on top to deaden the initial impact during compression. This bump stop is 3/4" taller than OEM but will collapse to the same height as OEM under high compression before ultimately bottoming out.

I’d be willing to give em a whirl seeing how I want to change my fronts up now that I have some suspension mods going.
 
Running Wheelers Superbumps and they've been good so far. They're close to $60 too

OP, how does your product compare to Timbrens or Wheelers stuff?

The wheelers are foam. With foam you need to have a fair amount of material to provide a cushioned bump stop. A similar dampening effect can be achieved by using rubber opposed to foam. Rubber can accomplish the same task in a much smaller package. The smaller package is what I am speciffically after. I do not want the bump stop to help my shocks dampening in any way other than to softly stop the upstroke just prior to bottoming out.

The wheeler superbumps dont fit. Your bump stop should not be in constant contact of the strike plate. It is interfering with the shocks valving/dampening. Why let a $60.00 piece of foam interfer with $1200.00 suspension?

The purpose of my bump stop is to retain the soft feel of the wheelers or timbrens in the smallest size bump stop possible, as to allow as much unimpeded upstroke possible.

I have a guy beta testing for me running Kings in his 5th gen. He has a rough, rutted section of dirt by his house he knows very well. Without my bump stops he was able to hit this particular section at about 40 mph. After installing my bumps he can now hit that same section at 55+ mph. He says the truck feels incredible and he cant tell when he gets into my bump stops because how progressive they feel.

My bump stops will never be as good as a air/gas bump stop (at $600.00+) but it definitely fills a void in-between. and at a price point of under $100 per set its hard to complain.

FYI the wheelers bumps aren't in constant contact(on mine) but I understand what your saying(at rest there's about 1-1.5" of space)

Looking like these will be available within two weeks. I have had several guys testing these bump stops and everyone is loving them so far. I am sending out another batch of Beta Bump stops tomorrow (7-9) to a few more guys that are known to have a heavy foot and that can really put a beating to my bump stop.

Once that is complete I will run a group buy for anyone interested in a set.

Awesome,, let be know if you need any more beta testers otherwise put me on the list to buy. The 4th gen is the wife's, (use to be mine until 5th arrived) she uses it to get groceries etc.
