WTB 5th gen factory subwoofer enclosure for a retrofit project.

My plan is to use the factory enclosure to get detailed measurements from. And from there figure out how to make a cost effective "Stealth" subwoofer enclosure to retrofit into 5th gens that didn't come from the factory with a sub.
That's the plan anyway. If anyone can help procure a factory enclosure, thats a start.

Why not just remove the rear panel real quick and measure the room you have in there? Pretty sure that’s easier unless you will be using the stock sub enclosure itself..

I'd like to see exactly how they maximized space and how it attaches to the vehicle.

I installed a jbl enclosure into my non equipped jbl. Finding maximum space would be best by removing the panel itself and measuring the pocket thats already there behind the panel that the enclosure fits into. Remove the panel and youll see what im talking about. As far as how it attaches to the vehicle, you can see the mounting points/where the box screws into once you remove the rear quarter panel.

Also thought about using a modified version of it to make a mold that could be reproduced in fiberglass.

If you were to make a mold from fiberglass, then that would be done from the space the enclosure fits into, not from copying a mold of the exact enclosure itself. Google a coupe pictures of that space behind the quarter panel and youll see what im talking about. Also, [MENTION=51033]97BlackAckCL[/MENTION] has a detailed thread on removing that rear quarter panel and installing the enclosure. You should be able to use those pics as reference to what im trying to explain should be easier for you. I copied his setup with using the stock jbl enclosure and adding a jl8w3.

I'm more of a hands on kind of guy and I'd definitely like to have the factory enclosure in hand while looking at the interior of the vehicle.
I'm also pretty familiar with making molds , so my plan to possibly make one will need to include the factory enclosure.
