5TH Gen Grille in 3rd gen Surround...PICS

I just picked up a 99 limited and redid the gold logo to color match. Then I remembered i had the grille out of my 98 SR5 out in the back shop. I grabbed it to see what one I liked better, and on my out to the shop I saw the center section from our 2013 that I did the raptor grille mod on..... my mind wandered and i went a little crazy with the dremmel.

ended up with this. it was so easy I assume someone has already done this mod, but I thought I would share anyway.

A color matched '99/'00 grill is my favorite, so I can't say I like this hybrid version better. That said, it's a cool "OEM+" kind of mod!

This was also my thought. I keep trying to talk myself into liking it. Perhaps if I leak off the plasti-dip from the chrome it will look better.

I kept the 99 limited grill just in case I hated this too much. This SR5 grill was in bad shape anyway....bad enough I replaced it on my last 3rd gen.

I am 99.6% sure he has no interest in the 3rd gen stuff... most guys with third gens tend to be like me.....cheap. Lol. I would 100% prefer his stuff on this truck in aluminum even if it was only a 1-off. But I will not hold my breath....I will however text him right. Is. .
