My new 2011 TE

This is actually my second 2011 Salsa Red T4R. The first was an SR5. I couldn't live with the boat like ride of the SR5 after driving a TE with KDSS. I got a good enough deal to make the switch not too painful. Today was the first day with the TE in its element.

The only mods so far are the 275 BFG ATs and a Canvasback cargo liner. More to come!

so just bought a brand new 2012 trail has pretty much everything on it except for kdss or what ever its called. its got an old man emu 3.75 inch suspension lift, 17" xd series wheels, and 285-70 BFG mudterrains. still looking for rubber floor mats, rock sliders, a mat for the rear cargo area and seat covers.

so just bought a brand new 2012 trail has pretty much everything on it except for kdss or what ever its called. its got an old man emu 3.75 inch suspension lift, 17" xd series wheels, and 285-70 BFG mudterrains. still looking for rubber floor mats, rock sliders, a mat for the rear cargo area and seat covers.

More red with black, you guys are making me want to trade my Limited for a Trail :biggrin2:

the dealer had put them on the day before i went to go look at it, but i was planning to do pretty much the same same thing but for alot less since im good friends with 4wheel parts SW regional sales manager. but one thing i figured out real fast is its hard to find aftermarket parts for the 5th gen 4runners, which is one of the reasons i joined so that maybe yall know of places to get things

it does have the nav in it like i said it has everything in it and i mean everything possible for the trail and for the whole thing sticker was 46000 but i got 11,500 for my 04 f150 fx4 and talked them down 3 on the mods that they put on it so ended up around 35,500 or so

Damn Man that sticker seems HIGH! I have an 11 TE with every option available on a TE. KDSS NAV hell even running boards and the sticker was 41K. We traded in our 08 sr5 with 77k on it at the same dealer we bought it so got a great deal too. Ours was new when we got it in september. But great looking beast im sure you will have many years of fun with her! If you want a pic of the sticker let me know I'll post it up.Welcome TOO:cheers:

No offense but I think buying the 5th gen. immediately is a bad move. Doing that you are buying it most expensive. You are also buying the 1st kind, so bugs/upgrades haven't been worked out which would be in a year or two.

Permit me a dumb question why would some one buy a limited and turn around and dress it up as a fake trail model? Good lord its a limited not a damn thing wrong with that! I bought a TE cause they took the locking rear diff out of every other model and lets face it theyre badass:gun6:I waited till 11 to trade in our 08 so I guess I missed the rush or were the trails that hard to buy?

consider your dumb question hereby permitted.

#1) i suppose someone would do that because they wanted the Limited's Torsen and full-time 4WD capability... and probably to a lesser extent the dual-zone climate control, etc.
#2) you should really take a few minutes to appreciate that someone's build... one of the most well done, exceptional rigs on the forum. nice guy too.

congrats on your sweet new rig! running stock UCAs with that OME? 3.75" is a lot of lift. folks will want to know what spring combo you're running.

Husky or WeatherTech for floor and cargo liners... Shrockworks, Rocky Road, or BudBuilt for sliders (Demello?)... Wet Okoles for seat covers (if you must... have to say i really like the TE's water-resistant fabric, personally)

i'm coming up on exactly two years and 19k mi on my salsa TE... still turn around to look at it when i walk away.
