My Father & Mother in law loved our two '14 Limited's so much, they went and bought the Lexus GX. They tried to tell me it was bigger that the T4R, but I parked one of ours side by side to the GX today, and they aren't (other than some sheet metal differences).

Cleaned her up a bit today, gotta love 45 degrees in Ohio. Feels like summer! Wish she was cooler looking though...

His and his.... But I let her drive it.

I've been creeping around for a while. Finally a post.
Bought the wife something a little nicer than her bastard child 06 Lexus gs300.

White was hard to find! Drove 6 hours to get her. Mile 22 in a transmission right of way and mile 69 through the creek! Ha insert joke here....

Thanks! Trying to be different. =) I'm still partial to the 20" setup, better stance but one thing for sure, the TE even with the KO are lighter and my butt can tell the difference. Just waiting for the mpg results after I put in a few thousand miles on it.

Yeah, the BR's are heavy as hell. Wish they were a bit lighter but oh well.

I was pretty much set on the BR's based on how they looked, but would rather not increase the wheel weight. So I did some checking and best I can find, the BR Sidewinder 20" wheels are roughly the same weight as the stock 20". Amazon says 37lbs shipping weight for the BR's and I found one post where someone calculated the stock 20" weigh 38-39lbs. Is this wrong? It doesn't seem "heavy as hell" and seems pretty good for a wheel that's 2" wider. Of course, compared to a Volk, then, yes, heavy as hell :)

Now I suspect that AT 275/55 tires weigh more than stock, but that's not the wheel's fault. Maybe 43lbs vs 36 (again according to amazon).

Does anyone have a good source of wheel/tire weight data? Most of my searches have turned up nothing. I'd really like to compare the 20" combinations vs. 17" combinations.

I do like the stance and tire width of my 20" better. My TE is ~19lbs while the BR is double that but my KO is 50+ lbs. I have to say my 20 rides better mostly due to the lowered PSI 32-34 vs the 40+ on the KO and for on road extra -12 offset and the wider thread patch on the 20 is a plus. I was even thinking about going wider 285 or taller 60s on the 20s. I would like to keep both wheels but the BR is going for sale since I don't have the extra space.

I agree. The stance with the BR's and 275's looks perfect on a stock suspension 4R.

So ~69lbs for TE + KO vs. ~80lbs for the BR + AT3 is a big difference per wheel.

I do really like the look of the BR 20" with the -12 offset. But I keep thinking that if I'm going to replace the wheels, I should go with a 17" just for the expanded tire choice. The BR's are available in 17x9 -12 so that should give a similar stance with the benefit of more tire choices (and probably lower cost and slightly less weight).

The Bay Area is not that far away, so shoot me a PM about your BR wheels (wheels + tires?). Price might sway me away from thoughts of 17" :)

Did not want to wait the 3 to 8 months for a TRD Pro and would miss not having a sunroof. As such, I purchase a trail premium and added some grill work, tires and rims. Few other mods I am debating but this is what I have so far.

Nice. In retrospect I may have done the same thing since I had to order my pro in advance last year without ever test driving one. I paid less than MSRP but probably not as good of a deal as I could have got on a TE and yes, I do miss my sunroof. There are a few folks in the TRD Pro thread with TE conversions like Mooney and some of the setups are actually better than TRDP's after they got done with them. Enjoy!

Was really liking the inferno, but after doing the research it was clear I could build my own off a trail premium and get the sunroof as well. Its been expensive but fun.

T4r pro.

I didn't even test drive my pro. Whats great is when the salesman asks "Have you driven one yet?" I said" Nope, don't need too. I'm in love with my 87 runner and I think they've made some improvements since then. I'll just go ahead and buy it." I've done some light wheeling and it seems to do great. I plan on taking it out to the George Washington national forest soon to play on some rock and test out the crawling features. I ordered a tune notcher and my buddy has a bender. The plan is to build some sliders.
