I've put them on all our vehicles. No wind noise and protects the hood from bugs, road debris / thrown stones etc. Inexpensive and good piece of gear / just waiting for it to come in for my T4R.

I think you missed the point of the post.
on the 4th gens, Toyota made 2 different oem bug shields. a USA and Canadian version.
the USA version went straight across the leading edge. the Canadian version had 2 spots next to each headlight that dipped down to cover that little spot of painted area as you can see in the previous post of that 4th gen with the bug shield.
in the usa you couldn't easily get the Canadian version.

That's neat, I didn't realize there was a difference between the two.
Hey, is there any way you still have the invoice on your 4runner to find out a part number for your step rails? or possible who the manufacturer may be? There was another thread on this in which no one was able to get any info. I called a dealership in them midwest who said they can ship the rails, but did not give me any info on where they come from.
