Debating 275's or 285's... I'm not wanting to lift my 14' T4R SR5 Prem just yet. I've been scouring the forum for pix of stock rigs with 285's. I realize the sizing chart mentions trimming of fender liners and possibly the mud flaps, but wouldn't mind seeing some first hand experience of guys who have gone 285's - no lift - stock rims.....

Not quite what you're after, but I have 285s with a 1.25" front spacer lift. I've not had a chance to try out the mud flaps, I have been running without them so far. They'll need to be heated up and shaped to sit flatter to the inner fender. Even then, I think they could rub.

I've done the fender liner mod to shift it forward an inch or so, and I had to trim the bottom of the front bumper about 3/4" as well.

All of this made it rub-free on the street, but I'm sure I'll have work to do once I take it off road and find any other rubbing.

With all of that said, I don't mind the work. It's a small price to pay for 285s, which I think are a great tire size for the 5th gen. However, it's only a marginal size increase from 275s, which don't require much work. You have to decide how willing you are to make them fit. To me it's no big deal.

I don't run any sway bars. It takes some getting used to but you have to add in the factors of everything else on the truck and in the suspension too. I equate it to driving a boat lol.

Picked up our 2016 Trail yesterday. Swapped out our 2015 sr5 for it. Gotta love trading in after a year and a half and not being upside down.

I really wanted a trail to begin with, but at the time they had an sr5, or a limited... So I went with the Sr5. The all black interior is way cleaner looking than that silver/black the 15 sr5 was.

Downside is I just put some Cooper MTP's on it, so now I gotta get another 5 haha.

Just picked up a 2016 SR5 yesterday. Dealer added TRD Wheels, skid plate, front grille, and Revtec leveling kit. Katzkin is getting installed next week. Just quick iPhone pics but I love it!
