Every time I drive up to Mammoth or the Eastern Sierras I pass by Vasquez Rocks. I always say to myself I should stop and check it out. Well, on my way back from climbing Mt. Whitney this week I finally did. Star Trek fans will recognize it as the site of the now infamous duel between Capt. James T. Kirk and the Gorn.

It was also featured in "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey".

Battle Wagon....

I felt like the ride improved slightly. The vehicle isn't going to ride like car which some folks like, but it rides like a truck with a very stiff suspension. I wanted to get the rake out of the vehicle. Truxxx sent me the alignment specs for the lift and I found a shop which deals with lifts all the time to perform the work. They did a great job, and I think the truck is tracking better now than the factory alignment. My tires are wearing perfectly after 10K miles with one rotation at 5K. No issues with the KDSS and it really does prevent body roll on the highway. I would recommend this setup to anyone who wants to level up the vehicle.

I have seen that spot a few times driving on the 14 but need to make it a stopping point one day soon. Great backdrop for your nice lookin' 4Runner!

Hall Valley Trail

A great trail but the last 1/2 mile was hell on the paint. A TON of pin striping and damage to one rim from a rock. Forgive the posing pic I couldn't help myself

Fun trip to Ouray to do a bunch of the surrounding trails. 4runner didn't skip a beat and constantly impressed us. Didn't get a ton of pictures because it was just the wife and me.

I wish. We didn't go on black bear because the forest service website says it is only open until you hit snow and there were a bunch of other trails to do and too little time to only get part way up and then have to turn around. Based on the other trails we went on I think the open section before wherever the snow started would be been relatively short. It sure wouldn't have allowed us to ctme down the switch babackinto telluride which is, in my opinion, the big draw for black bear. We did Imogene, ophir, Alta lakes, porphyry, California, corkscrew, and parts of the Alpine loop. Decided to skip Poughkeepsie also due to difficulty and lack of winch/second vehicle.

We also hiked the perimeter trail around ouray which i highly recommend.
