Cool. I just ordered some wheels the same size as yours and same offset and can't figure out what size tires to get. Every thread says something different about what's rubbing and what's not. Your rig looks just right so that's probably about the lift and tire size I'll shoot for. Your brother's Tacoma looks good too but the 4runner still reigns supreme.

4runner arrived in Dakar. Compare to Forunner
so the 4runner has arrived to west africa. it feels right at home!! Have a look against the Senegal scenery.
Can i only attach one photo? Wanted to share a side-by-side with the Fortuner. Much slicker than the 4runner, slightly smaller. Smaller engine too. Used to have one in Rwanda. Nice truck too.

Here is the side-by-side with the Fortuner - the 4runner's cousin abroad (no, its not the Prado that is the the closest relative). Slicker (if you are into that) Slightly smaller, normally come with a smaller engine. tough! Its a redo of a Hilux.

When are you going to run that?
Beautiful inside and out. I'm curious if you take it off road from time to time, or mainly stick to highway/city. I ask because I'm looking to get a late model 4runner possibly; mostly highway/city, but definitely off-road from time to time, though nothing radical. I'm guessing a fair amount of non-technical off-road adventure and I can still hope for a nice-looking body? I know "it depends." Thanks.
Tempted to add my 2c. I have been experimenting with wheels and tires at my own expense last few months. After these I ended up with almost new set of 255/80/17 Falkens that I have to sell off now
* I have 1.25" spacers
* Almost 4" toytec lift in front (need to keep an eye on CV boot)
* SPC UCA
I have two sets of wheels. One with +18 offset. I call them safe wheels. But i do not like these wheels that much. So I got a new set of Micky Thompsons with -12 offset.
My 265/70/17 KO2 needed replacement. I started with 255/80/17 Falkens on the -12 offset wheels. No rubbing. But did not like the skinny tall look. So wanted to try 295s
Started with 295/70/17 Dick Cepek on the +18 wheels as a safe starting point. No rubbing or very very slight rubbing.
Then switched to -12 wheels. Had to trim of plastic on the rear fender trim towards the bottom. Now there is some rubbing on body mount now when i get in and out of tight parking. I need to do these turns slowly. Otherwise mostly fine.
Taking front spacers out is an option.
But will do a BMC and pinch weld work next week. Will also do a realignment again at the same time.
I don't have front rubbing problem because factory bumper is gone.

I Finally Got One
Howdy - new poster and new Toy Owner. I’ve eyed 4 Runners for decades and finally got one. Plain Jane right now but love the base I’ve got to work with. I’m a hunter, off roader, outdoorsman and love road trip exploration. I can’t wait to put some tires and small lift on this baby.
