Managed to stuff some 33 x 12.5 x 17s on my 2011 with minimal trimming, so far... Replaced the factory spare with a 5th on a Wilco hitchgate. Now onto touching up the blacked out chrome strips and painted emblems.
No rubbing? No lift? Looks good

There's a lift, the Toytec Billstein 5100 kit. I had 275/70/17s on there before the lift, and now I've gone bigger (finally). Right now no rubbing except for just a little at right lock, may trim a little more off the driver's side liner.
Nice I’m running 285/70 tires on 2.5” 17x8.5 -10mm rims with 1.25” spacers still haven’t dialed in alignment/caster to achieve no rubbing and that’s with a BMC.

Your BMC is because of the wheels and wheel spacers. Select the right wheel and you won't have problems. This is a 295/70/17 at 1.5" lift. No BMC, just a fender liner mod, no rubbing.

I put 9x17s on mine with a -12 offset. Did a lot of research, and anticipated at least pushing the liners foward, most likely bumper cuts (absolutely needed), and likely BMC. Its good for street driving now, but will need the BMC to get any travel before i do any off roading. 33x12.5s are basically 315x65s at 17inches, so this really is the limit for a 3in lift with stock UCAs I think.
Have been enjoying the freedom after BMC. yeah my wheels have -12 offset + spacers and I was not quite ready to give them up

Hey everyone, new 4Runner owner.
Purchased my dream truck in March, 2019 Nautical Blue TRD Off-Road Premium.
Started with some basic mods once I received my plates from the dmv back in July.
Thought I'd share the before & after so far can't wait to lift it and upgrade the tires later this year.

Have been busy since the purchase of this, new to me, 2016 Trail....Here's the before (minus the roof tent) when I brought it home to now. Still waiting on front bumper and stuff. Will probably take the rack off and paint black until I decide on another.
