Mine in 7 days....

They are sure in short supply up here in Alberta. And the dealers refuse to deal. So I bought one from the next province over and got a screaming deal. It's a 50 minute cheap flight, and a 5 hour drive back to save THOUSANDS.

Mine is a Grey Limited. I'm getting Blizzaks pre-installed and balanced. Then I'll keep those on the stock wheels and by spring, I hope someone here can point me in the right direction (or do it now) to some super-cool 20" rims, and use the stock tires as "summers".

I'll post pics as soon as I arrive home in Edmonton. Lots of snow here so can't wait to thrash around. And I'm going to put some HID's in, so again, if anyone has hints/kits they recommend.....

Also, used the trunk tray for the first time today and I do see how it might save the bumper from having something heavy smacked on it, Im still up in the air, regardless I really wish someone had a short history of how that wound up as the option to ship ever car with, bet there was a lotta debate

Regarding the slide out tray, if you "Build Your Own" 4runner on the Toyota website and you build a 4-cyl, the interior diagram shows no slide out tray. I wish that had been an option (to not have the tray that is).

Why don't you like it??
I did'nt think I would like mine, figured it was wasted space but found out it is quite handy to unload stuff,like my mountain bikes ,my dog's cage, groceries,luggage, beer kegs, ect. and only wastes about an inch or so of height in the back.The back is still taller inside then the 4th Gen. even with the slider tray in and it does help save your back. The only down side to it I see is it will collect dirt and crap along the sides and underneath.

You do know that it is bolted in by the slide rails,right. You can unbolt it and take it out.Not that big of deal really.

The 4 cyl.,SR5, T.E. and Limited have the exact same main body and frame .What distiguishes them from each other is what is bolted,clipped or glued on as it comes down the assembly line. So ,if the 4 cyl. does'nt have it then something else(probably a carpet covered piece of plastic or fiber board) covers the slide out tray's slider attach points back there when it goes down the assembly line .Whatever it is has a Toyota part number for it and can be looked up and bought at your Toyota parts counter. I was going to cut out a piece of 1/4 inch plywood,fiberboard or honeycomb and cover it with carpet but turns out I like it now that I have used it.

FINALLY, I recieved my new LIMITED 4X4 today after I ordered it about a month ago It was supposed to in last Friday and then they promised Saturday and that did'nt happen. I just about walked on the deal Saturday night but the Sales Manager said he would take care of me for the extra wait.

The extra wait ending up being well worth it as he ordered the complete front bumper and facia,complete rear bumper and facia and all the mud flaps for a Trail Edition for my Limited.I'm going to leave the wheel flares silver and have the rest of the chrome painted to satin black.The best part is they are going to put them on and match the paint when they come in. He said about 3 weeks for the parts to come in. Freeman Toyota Rocks!!

Here's my new Magnetic Grey Metallic Trail Edition. It's dusty already because it has rained the last 2 days since I picked it up and I had to drive 180 miles after I picked it up. Maybe after I get it cleaned up and get some good lighting I'll try for some better photos of it.

I love my new 4runner I only have 800 miles on it now but I could not be happier I am already planning my first mod heated seats. I will post a how to once I get it figured out.

Anyone know if the SR5 wheel center caps will fit on the TE? In the video of the TE on the Rubicon the wheels look much better without any center cap but I think its the "blistered" effect that is so off putting, to me at least. If the flush SR5 cap fits, might just be the ticket.

front license plate

i've been dying to take some pictures, but i'm at my parents house for the next couple of weeks and don't have my usb cord! so...

anyone have any ideas on attaching the front license plate to the 4r? mine doesn't have a bracket, just the bumper, and there are two little indentions that i can see that are for the license plate. i don't really want to screw it through the bumper if there is another option.

I'm in the same boat. I have to get a front tag when I register it in CA. Most dealer sell OEM custom front plate holders that are 'no drill' style. Dealers will not include them with the car because they can charge $20-30 for them. Although new, I assume the 2010 4runner probably has a custom front plate holder available. If you call a dealer and find out one way or the other, please report back to us.

I bought one of the first Venzas that my dealer received back in early 2009; at that time, the front license plates were attached directly to the Venza's bumper. There was no bracket (which is typical for many Toyota models).

A couple months later, I noticed that the Venzas on the lot had a plastic bracket holding the front license plate. The dealer installed one for me at no charge when I asked.

Maybe in a couple of months, Toyota will have a front license plate bracket available for the 4Runner...

I think you'll love it. Magnetic Gray with the all black interior and the black leather will be so sweet!
