5th Gen T4R Picture Gallery

Did anyone get two black pieces with their 4R? I have these two black pieces, about a foot or a foot and a half long, in a plastic sack sitting in the back seat. I have yet to figure out what they are for. They appear to snap into place somewhere, but I can't figure out where.

I realize that a picture would help a ton, so I'll try and get one on my phone in the daylight, but just thought I'd see if anyone knew.

Based on the pics they look like the pieces that go under the front bumper. They need to be detached to use the tow hooks so you do not damage the bumper (according to the owners manual), I think there is 1, maybe 2, in the rear also.

Picked up a Limited

Hi all, just joined the forum, thought I'd share the details on the Limited in Magnetic Gray Metallic we picked up a few days ago.





We hit one dealer that had a silver Limited, so after we got to the best deal we headed somewhere else that had the gray that we preferred. Ended up only saving an additional $100, but got the color. What they gave us for the '05 4Runner SR5 (93K miles) we were trading wasn't great, it did have a few issues, but either way we probably could have gotten a couple grand more in a private sale. It seems Toyota won't even sell all-weather floor mats right now with the stuck throttle issue they've had in other cars, so ordered some WeatherTech mats yesterday. Next up is nerf bars, 17" wheels with snow tires, and probably a front light bar.

Sweet pic,adoihcj! I'm from Greensburg/Latrobe up in Westmoreland County, just west of there.Seven Springs and Lynn Run State park is where I hung out in the mountains!

On the other end of the spectrum. We just got back from South Padre Island, TX and the beach last night. It was 80 degrees on New Years Eve!!Kinda cloudy and then cleared up just in time for the blue moon . My sister and brother-in-law were down from Pa.Here are a couple of pics.

On the beach with Brown Pelicans-Thousands roost there for the winter-Really cool to watch them dive bomb the water to feed in groups.

Yep, They are BFG AT KO's in size 275/70/17
They are M&S rated tires too.
One size bigger then the stock 265/70/17's
Discount Tire gave me $75 a piece trade-in for the original Bridgestone Dueler H/T's with 150 miles on them so they were $220-75=$145 a piece plus mounting/balancing. It came out to a little over $700 with lifetime balance/rotate.

Unbelievable grip but I lost about 1 MPG gas mileage and they are noisier then stock.That's the tradeoff with real 4x4 All -Terrain truck tires. I personally love them so far at 2500+ miles!

here are a couple of pictures of mine in the shoreline blue

we originally tried to get a silver metallic limited, but it got dealer traded from under us as we were considering a sr5 instead, but after having the limited, we decided to go all out, and this one had every single option i wanted. there is nothing this thing doesnt have that i dont want. i'm just waiting on toyota to start releasing the accessories it needs the rubber floormats and bug shield.

we looked online for 2 hours with a range of over 300 miles, and this was the only shoreline blue anyone had. we were lucky enough that our dealer managed to work a deal with that corresponding dealership to get it up to us. we also had to wait for another couple to look at it and to decide if they wanted it or not.

took it up to evansville IN last night to see Avatar in IMAX 3d. this thing hauls and is smooth, even at 100 ( i was not driving, my fiance was). we averaged about 16mph combined. even at 85 we had the eco light on with the cruise.

and heated leather seats are AWESOME when the temp is 9 degrees!!!

you mean the receiver? we took it off our other 4 runner and just slid it in place yesterday when we picked it up. my 09 tacoma got totalled on my birthday back in october of this year, and the only thing that saved us from being hurt worse was that i had left the receiver installed in the back of my toyota, from moving a trailer previously that day. a dude in a dodge ram rear ended us doing 70 on the freeway while we were stopped, slamming us into a chevy silverado.

generally i have a john deere hitch plate installed in place of the receiver, but as its like 10 degrees outside, i dont feel like going back out in the cold, digging out my hitch plate, and installing it.
