Thanks Adoihcj! The only thing that sucks is when the tire shop was putting the lugs back on one of the studs broke and they said all of the studs felt weak, so I took it in to Toyota to have it checked out and they fixed it but hopefully its not an issue.

I see you had the dealer install the r-boards already.Did you make them throw them in on the deal?
First impressions compared to your last 4R?...as there are only a few of us so far who have "updated".

Someone else on the forum had this happen to them as well. I'll be sure to warn the dealer during my first tire rotation.

I'm wondering if all Toyota service departments will measure the torque? Curious as to whether or not I need to warn them before my first rotation.

Thanks, sorry for my late reply, I don't get a chance to check this forum too often...
I got the tan interior- I really wanted black but I am super impatient and once I saw this one on the lot I just couldn't wait for another to come in, especially with the blue being scarce. The tan is really growing on me, and I'm guessing it will be a lot more comfortable in the summer.
The running boards- well, I guess I should throw it out there that my dad has worked for Toyota for about 20 years, so I bought it at invoice price, and all of my accessories at cost, so technically they didn't throw it in, but they did the labor free I guess since they had to put them on a week after I bought it...
As for first impressions... I will start by saying I didn't LOVE my 2004 Sport, I WAS IN LOVE with it
But I have been driving a corolla for the last few years until I could afford another 4runner, so its really a big difference from the tiny corolla going back to an SUV, so I'm still adjusting, and I'm not sure if that is because its bigger than the 4th gen or if I'm just not used to it. I feel like the driver seat is sort of uncomfortable right now, but I didn't have leather before... Overall, I love it so far- and I'm just happy to be back in one...

Some after pics with my new tube running boards from my old 2006 sport 4R.
All we did was make new mounting holes on the tubes themselves and the rest lined up just as it did on my 2006. The boards had to be moved back several inches due to the design of the front mud flaps.

Thank you! I believe without the flaps, the tube would have been able to sit farther forward and then everything would line up perfectly. It was roughly 2inches off with my Trails mud flaps. Good luck!

Disagree, looks more like a 4th Gen. Sport:boink:
The factory gray 4th Gen tubed running boards would look especially good on your gray TE IMO!
What are the other choices?The new factory ones from southeast Toyota that are on Ebay or wait til Shrock Works are done with theirs. BTW.. SW has their first prototype rock sliders finished and sent off to powdercoat.
