Just picked it up on Tuesday and was out getting it detailed with desert pinstriping on Saturday. Handles well, just need to get used to the differences between it and the truck i had for almost 17 yrs. Soooo many electronic 4WD doo dads. Sorry for the quick pics, was not focused on the photography !

I have never liked the looks of the Trail.. But that salsa red looks great.

The Trails are the best lookin' ones! His Salsa Red one does look quite nice.

I'm feeling the same way. I DO NOT understand wh people spend money ruining a perfectly nice truck. I feel like 20'' rims are a downgrade and it looks rediculous. Should've bought a range rover for that. Runners are one of the most capable and rugged suv's to ever be massed produced and maybe that's why you have such an array of buyers and preferences but IMP its just waste. Oh what I would do if I had a ride like his...........I'd be all in the dirt and mud havin a good time seeing things only one would dream of while in their vehicles.....oh well some people are just okay with cruisin the streets lookin at concrete and asphalt while their truck is silently crying for dirt. Very sad. But like I said.....oh well......

Yea knockings not that cool but I think we hae a very VALID OPINION, lol, here. I just dont understand why people do some things to their TRUCKS. And like I've seen other members here say: It's just odd that toyota decided to do a 20" rim option on such a rugged vehicle. Oh well. Whatever floats ur boat. But they do still make range rovers ya know. haha!!

VALID OPINION, lol

Actually, what's really funny is two guys with 4Runners that look like they might go off-road just to reach the trail head for a mountain bike trip giving their opinion on how a difference in 1.5 inches of wheel radius is the difference between being able to handle the Rubicon trail and a mud puddle. I guess that's why you never see Land Rovers going off-road, those darn 20" rims just can't handle it.

I'm not a huge fan of how the stock 20" look, but I think saying they're not off-road worthy is ridiculous. I guess the old 15" rims are better than the new 17" rims right?

first 4runner, ever!

Got it about a month ago, loving this truck. Had a rodeo (bleh) and a grand cherokee (ok) before this. My first car ever was a corolla, so technically not my first time in a toyota. But I've been wanting a 4runner for many years, and now here we are.

I finally got my T4R a little dirty this weekend, and I have to say, these things look right when they are dirty. The shiny tires look... weird. Your truck looks awesome.

This may not be the best place for my first post here but oh well. I own a mag gray 09 Tacoma 4x4. It is the 3rd Toyota pickup I've owned, 4th Toyota vehicle I've driven. I lusted over the first 4runners when I was in high school, of course I lusted over the guys who's parents helped them get pickups too. I've been wheeling with people who owned 4runners and know they are uber capable vehicles. When the 5th gens came out I hated the look. Then when I saw the TEs I started lusting over them too. They look awesome and as their lineage proved before they came, they are quite capable out of the box. Looking at the comparison on the Toyota website it seems as though the 4R beats the Tacoma on most things other than price. Not sure I could really afford a TE but they definitely kick ass. Keep up posting pics, who knows maybe I'll convert.

Silver 4wd V6 SR5

Just picked this up about 2 weeks ago and love it. My dogs love it too, they don't want to get out when we get home. I thought I'd need a ramp for them as it's much higher then what they are used to getting into, but they didn't need it.

Got the Husky weatherbeater floorliners for the front, rear, and cargo mat also, they fit like a glove and don't feel slippery when driving.

Yah I love it, even this was a tame state park dirt road, but I loved flying down it without that ~~~~washboard effect that we had last year in my wife's Mazda Tribute. Our buddies came in a volvo and had to drive 5 mph, Lol fun truck and super nice.

edit - when we got back to town after that trip, got some huge jealous looks from other cars. Not that I care That much dirt just made it pop
